  • How to find all of the possible evidences including: Freezing Temperatures, EMF Level 5, Ghost Orbs, Spirit Box, Fingerprints, and Ghost Writing.
  • What equipment we can use to find this evidence.
  • What these evidences mean.
  • What these evidences can result in.

Freezing Temperatures

First up on our list of evidence is Freezing Temperatures!

The way you can get Freezing Temperatures is by identifying the Ghost room is below or equal to 0 Degrees Celsius. The way you can recognize this is with a Thermometer which is a piece of advanced equipment where the reading displayed will show the temperature in the room you are currently in. If the reading displays below or equal to 0 Degrees Celsius, you have yourself Freezing Temperatures! If you do not have a Thermometer you can also see you breath in the supposably haunted room. It will look something like this:

Ghosts that result in Freezing Temperatures include:

  • Wraith
  • Phantom
  • Banshee
  • Mare
  • Shade
  • Yurie
  • Demon

EMF Level 5

Next up is EMF Level 5!

The way you can get EMF Level 5 is by using something called an EMF Reader. This device will let us know when a ghost is nearby especially while it is being active by emitting a beeping noise and lights scaling from level 1-5 depending on the ghost's activity. An EMF level of 1 indicates the Ghost is in its normal state; not touching anything or creating any disturbances.

An EMF level of 2 indicates the Ghost is interacting with an object such as a door, window, light, phone, etc.. An EMF level of 3 indicates the ghost has moved or thrown a physical object such as a shoe, coffee cup, painting etc..

Phasmophobia - Beginners Evidence Guide image 23

An EMF level of 4 indicates that ghost's presence is in a nearby room from where you are currently and if the reader is in the chosen or haunted room this may signal the start of a hunt.

An EMF level of 5 will only occur when a ghost has EMF Level 5 as a trait. It will occur whenever an EMF Level 2 event happens and will replace that level of indication. This means that when a Ghost has the ability to perform an EMF 5 field of energy every time it performs an EMF 2 interaction there is a 25% chance it will instead count as an EMF Level 5 event. If this happens you have yourself an EMF Level 5! EMF readings can be somewhat frustrating to get when you have a shy ghost, however, EMF readings of 5 can happen and usually do happen almost immediately upon reaching the haunted room and last for 20 seconds. An EMF Level 5 will look something like this:

Ghosts that result in EMF Level 5 include:

  • Phantom
  • Banshee
  • Jinn
  • Mare
  • Revenant
  • Shade
  • Oni

Ghost Orbs

Phasmophobia - Beginners Evidence Guide image 33

Next up is Ghost Orbs!

The way you can get Ghost Orbs is using something called a Video Camera. This camera must be placed in the room with the ghost's activity. I recommend buying a tripod and placing the camera on top of it to then find a corner of the room where the ghost is located and drop it in a corner that has the ability to over see the entire room. If you cannot buy a tripod, find an elevated surface of a room that can oversee everything in it and place your camera there.

Once you have done this, you or another teammate must go to the desktop located in the van and click to look at the screen monitor where the Ghost Orb camera's view will be displayed by clicking the mouse located on the desk next to the monitor. Once you have done this, confirm all lights in the room are off and activate night vision mode by clicking on the keyboard. Once you have done this, wait a reasonable amount of time, about 30 seconds to 1 minute given their inconsistency. If you notice floating spheres of light travel across the room you have yourself Ghost Orbs! Ghost Orbs will look something like this:

Ghosts that result in Ghost Orbs include:

  • Phantom
  • Banshee
  • Jinn
  • Mare
  • Revenant
  • Shade
  • Oni

  • Spirit
  • Wraith
  • Poltergiest
  • Jinn
  • Mare
  • Oni
  • Demon

Next up is Spirit Box!

The way you can get the ghost to talk to you is using something called a Spirit Box. The way this device is used is by asking the ghost questions near or within the haunted room. Questions you can ask the ghost include. "Where are you?", "Are you here?", "How old are you?", "Are you friendly?". Keep in mind that for the Spirit Box to work you must have all room lights within the vicinity of where the spirit box is located for the ghost to communicate with you; flashlights do not interfere with the Spirit Box.

Sometimes you can even do as much as say the ghost's name to anger it which may cause it to transmit a response via Spirit Box. Keep in mind that you do not have to interfere with the communication between your teammates using local or global push to talk or communicate using the Spirit Box. The ghost can always here you whether talking in game or not. Yeah, sorry to scare ya :). If the ghost does not respond using the Spirit Box or something interferes with it, you will get a statement reading "Nothing Detected" on your display just to let you know that the device isn't picking anything up. Communication within the Spirit Box will look something like this:

Ghosts that result in communication within the Spirit Box include:

  • Spirit
  • Wraith
  • Poltergiest
  • Jinn
  • Mare
  • Oni
  • Demon

Fingerprints

Phasmophobia - Beginners Evidence Guide image 53

Next up is Fingerprints!

Phasmophobia - Beginners Evidence Guide image 55

The way you can get Fingerprints is by using an Ultra-Violet Flashlight. This device is very much like a normal flashlight except it emits a dim, purple glow of Ultraviolet, or UV for short, light that can expose fingerprints. Fingerprints are located on windows, backsides of doors to rooms and closets, and light switches. You should only look for fingerprints once you have found the ghost's room as they are more on the difficult side to find and can be in many places.

Once you have found the haunted room, listen for banging on windows, door knobs turning, and look for lights switching. Once you have heard these events occur, grab your UV Light and point it at the doorknob, window, or light switch you heard the ghost touch. Keep trying this for all the doorknobs and windows in the room until it is obvious that the ghost has interacted with many things and hasn't left any fingerprints. Now in terms of what you are going to see if the ghost does leave fingerprints is a green, glowing hand print on doors and windows and a single green, glowing fingerprint on light switches.

In addition, it is necessary to know that the UV Light can also be used to find footprints on the floor when the ghost walks in salt, however, these do not count as fingerprints nor is it evidence. The glow stick, another advanced piece of equipment, can also be used to find fingerprints, but these are much less effective for finding fingerprints and i recommend dropping them on the floor for a stationary light that is much more convenient when looking for footprints. Also, don't forget that taking a photo of different fingerprints throughout the room using the photo camera can grant you extra money. Fingerprints will look something like this:

Ghosts that result in Fingerprints include:

  • Spirit
  • Wraith
  • Poltergiest
  • Jinn
  • Mare
  • Oni
  • Demon

Ghost Writing

Last we have Ghost Writing!

The way you can get Ghost Writing is using something called a Ghost Writing Book. This Book is easily the most simple piece of equipment of them all. Simply find the ghost room and drop the Ghost Writing Book in the room. I recommend you drop more than one in the room and spread them apart in case the ghost is shy and because, just like fingerprints, if you take a photo of Ghost Writing from different books using the photo camera it will give you a bonus money increase in the photo category. Once you leave the book alone for some time and come back it has a chance of saying words like "Leave or Die" or "Die" or just some symbols. If this is the case then you have yourself some Ghost Writing! Ghost Writing looks something like this:

Ghosts that result in Ghost Writing include:

  • Spirit
  • Wraith
  • Poltergiest
  • Jinn
  • Mare
  • Oni
  • Demon
