Another Max Confidant Guide (New Game)

Important Information

Your character's social stats such as Guts, Knowledge, Proficiency, Kindness, and Charm are important for advancing specific confidant ranks, otherwise you will not be able to continue with that specific Confidant until you meet the stat requirement. As long as your social stat ranks are not lower then this guide, you have nothing to worry about.

You do not need to reload your save to get additional stat bonus from certain activities. All activities in this guide will assume you did not receive any additional bonuses that are tie to RNG. All crafting will assume you only receive the normal amount of points to your proficiency. All chalk dodge prior to maxing your charm is assumed to have failed. So in all likelihood your personal social stats will be higher than what this guide is showing.

Billiards activity gives you points to your social stats randomly. Fortunately, the differences are negligible so you don't need to reload your save to match the stat bonus that is shown in this guide. Just roll with whatever you got, it shouldn't make much of a difference.

Get into the habit of making multiple save states.

It is generally a good idea to have a matching persona when you are ranking up your confidant and I will give you a very clear alert ⚠ to which specific confidants requires a matching persona.

The Sun and Moon confidant specifically do not require you to have any matching personas or picks the appropriate responses to advance their confidant ranks. When these two confidants are available, any time spend with them will advance your ranks no matter what.

The Strength confidant is tie to completing a series of request related to fusing specific personas with specific skills. Advancing this confidant will not take up time in-game so they can be completed as you progress through the game or all in one day if you have the right personas. Feel free to advance the Strength confidant at your own pace if you want.

If you ever want to know whether or not if your confidant is ready to rank up on the next visit, pay attention of the music notes that pops out of the characters. If it has a trail of stars following the music notes as it fly off screen, then that confidant is ready to rank up the next time you spend time with them. An arcana card with two exclamation points on the detailed map is also an indication that the confidant is ready to rank up.

This guide will take into account on whether or not if you chose to romance your confidants. There is generally no difference between the romance route and the friendship route aside from one confidants that will have very little effect on your schedule.

It is very important that your non-party member confidant ranks matches what this guide is showing. Most of them have a request tie to them that prevents you from advancing any further until you complete their request. If you don't have the request of specific confidants ready when you go into mementos, you will fall behind.

The Sun, Councillor, Justice, Strength, and Faith are the five confidants that have a deadline that once past, will be unavailable for you to progress any further. You have until November 18 to reach the appropriate ranks of the Sun, Councillor, and Justice confidants and December 22 for the Faith and Strength confidants.

With the exception of the Sun, Councillor, and Justice confidants, if you do fall behind in any other confidants, this guide has at least two weeks of spare time near the end of the base game to catch up.

The Fool, Magician, Judgement confidants will be ignored in this guide. These specific confidants will automatically rank up as you progress through the story and are not missable.
