Classic Homemade Burger Recipe

Ingredients

For the Patties:

500g ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 garlic clove, minced

1 egg

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Burger:

4 burger buns

4 slices of cheese (Cheddar is a great option)

Lettuce leaves

Tomato slices

Pickles (optional)

Ketchup and mustard (or your preferred sauce)

Instructions

1.Prepare the Patties:

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

Mix everything gently until combined (don't overwork the meat to keep it tender).

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than your burger buns (they’ll shrink while cooking).

2.Cook the Patties:

Heat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side (for medium doneness), or until your desired level of doneness is reached.

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt

3.Assemble the Burger:

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom bun (or any sauces you prefer).

Add a leaf of lettuce, then a slice of tomato, and finally, a pickle (optional).

Place the cheese-covered patty on top.

Close with the top bun.

4.Serve and Enjoy:

Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite side (fries, chips, or a salad). Enjoy your homemade classic burger!

Tip

You can customize this burger with toppings like bacon, avocado, or caramelized onions for extra flavor!
