We have been playing New world since October 5, 2021 and have been suffering from a very heavy game phenomenon right after the gear set and season pass were implemented.
Originally this game didn't seem to be optimized very well from the beginning, but recently it has been much worse.
CPU utilization is rarely below 90%.
(GPU usage is lower than CPU, and this alone shows that optimization is not working.)
But we like the game itself, so my husband has done all he can to research and independently come up with adjustments on our own computer to make it as comfortable as possible to play.

1 In-game Settings
Lower the "Player Nameplate Amount" number in the "Game" column.
Turn all graphics in the "Video" column to "Low".
"Dynamic Resolution Scaling" is "off".
2 Windows Settings
Open "Windows Security" and press "Allow applications through the firewall" in the "Firewall and Network Protection" column.
Press "Change Settings" in the upper right (1), then press "Allow other applications" in the lower right (2) and add "Easyanticheat".
(The location of "Easyanticheat" may vary depending on the person's computer environment, but in our environment it was located in "Program Files(x86)" on the local disk.)
3 Nvidia Settings
In the "Manage 3D Settings" field in the "Nvidia Control Panel", set New world individually in the program settings.
"Anti-aliasing - FXAA" is "on".
"Anti-aliasing-Mode" is "Change Application Settings".
"Anti-aliasing - Settings" is "2x".
"Threaded optimization" is "off".
"Texture Filtering - Quality" is "High Performance".
"Texture Filtering - Trilinear Optimization" is "on".
"Texture Filtering - Anisotropic Sample Optimization" is "on".
"Triple Buffering" is "off".
4 Nvidia Cache Deletion
If you play the latest games with frequent updates, deleting the cache for any game will make the game lighter.
(The location of the folder will vary depending on your computer environment.)
Enter "%appdata%" in the search field and delete all files in "Local" ⇒ "D3DSCache".
(Skip those that cannot be deleted)
Delete all files in "Local" ⇒ "NVIDIA" ⇒ "DXCache".
(Skip those that cannot be deleted)
Finally
These adjustments have reduced the choppiness in the game and the FPS is much better than before the adjustments.
However, "Brimstone" still tends to be heavy overall, especially around "Helio" when there are a lot of people, and the FPS drops to about 20 FPS.
This seems to happen no matter how high the spec of the computer is, the FPS drops, so there seems to be nothing we can do about it.
