Welcome to the "unofficial" steam version of the change-logs for Not Enough Madness and The MPN Dossier. Here you will find what's new and what's changed. It is heavily recommended to download the original mod and program and give them your support. Also heavily recommended

This is no way associated with Xdefault and Dark-signal, this is only for people who are want a quick and easy way to get the mod/program's change-log without the hassle of joining a Discord server just to know what changes there are to the Mod/Program.

Some updates to the change-log will sometimes be slow so don't expect a super quick update.

NEW GAME + Update

New Campaign

Dive into a new story featuring MPN admins in a fully modded story mode

Remixed arenas and new twists to add a little extra challenge!

ALL original Statcards have been changed: For the optimum NG+ experience, remove your current Custom Stuff folder and add the latest folder before manually re-adding your own custom stuff.

Scene Modding

New Folder added: rooms

Scenes can now be modified! you can now modify existing assets in a scene, which include the following:

Character assigners, including single characters, bosses, and squads

Interactive objects and targets

Cutscene steps and actors

Area triggers, including speech triggers and siege staging grounds

Locker contents

Entrance vocations

Scenes are injected with new data when custom stages are active, and a stage injector of a matching name is present in the rooms folder

Scene Writing

Scene data can be output into rooms/template/ when playing with custom stages turned off

Scene will only output when file of matching scene name does not exist

Be sure to visit all rooms to acquire all data present in the scene. Some stages may require multiple passes.

Reminder: Some properties are output only, and will not be read until they are better understood.

New Stage Logic

New Config Option: CustomStages (can be enabled from startup)

All story mode stages can now be changed, including local ones

Stages now display their custom name on maps, including arenas

Customizable Flavor Text

New File Added: FlavorText.json

Flavortext can now be customized in NEM, including the following:

Names for Faction enums, including identity of custom factions

All arena banners, including starting, ending, and failing

Hireling interaction text, including hiring, hellos and goodbyes

Unique character dialogue for specific characters during the new quest

Custom Factions

New factions can now be identified as their own group in the playground and when contracting/hiring minions

Faction IDs are mapped to a faction name in FlavorText.json

All custom faction IDs must be > 100

All original NEM factions have been remapped to support custom factions, now starting at 21

Subfolder Support

Statcard folders in your Custom Stuff Directory now support any number of sub-folders. (Exceptions: stories, arenas, rooms)

Duplicate filenames in different directories will override each other in game based on read order. Last file to be read is the replacement.

Miscellaneous changes

New Folder Added: storyloadouts (for story mode loadouts)

New Corpus Property Added: EventSFX

New cutscene properties available TeleportTo, FaceDir

New Boss modules added for use with boss characters, see glossary for list.

Bribing can now work outside of arena mode, monetary restrictions removed when not playing arena

Fixed issue with saving null statcards to careers

Directory Changes

Database folders now support sub-folder structuring (filenames must still be unique)

Images folder now its own separate folder, can also support sub-directories

Added storyloadouts

Progress Bars

Loading screen for initial startup and batch updating

Linked Transfer Folder

Dossier can now be linked to your custom stuff folder for easier file transfer

When starting up the dossier for the first time, you'll be asked to specify the "Custom Stuff" folder. A config file will automatically be created to save this directory so that it'll be remembered for repeat startups.

You can change your transfer folder by either modifying config.JSON or through the editor

Having a linked folder will also automatically populate your materials list with custom materials from the folder directly

Improved Diagnostic Tools

When running a batch update, the process will automatically scan for null references. If any are found, you can open up a new Diagnostic window where you can fix them all in one go and save all your fixes.

If you choose not to run diagnostics, files will still save as normal.

Improved Saving

Statcards can now be saved to a directory; it can either be selected from the dropdown menu, or manually written to specify a new one

Upgrades

Added playSFX to DeathEvents

Added WipeSquadAfterVictory to Stories

Loading entries no longer accept manually written entries, causing a crash

Special Mention
