Introduction To Gauntlets Of Power
About Gauntlets in League of MaidensGauntlets of Power in League of Maidens add an extra dimension to combat by resetting skill cool-down timers and refilling Warmaiden magicka. Using Gauntlets allows for devastating skill chains and combo potential.
The Gauntlet ability is almost identical to the EX Trigger R Skill, but unlike that skill, Gauntlets don't cost Warmaiden HP upon use. Furthermore, the Gauntlet ability can be used in addition to EX Trigger, potentially allowing your Warmaiden to use her skills four times in a row!
Gauntlets must be charged at the start of each gaming session and after each use. They're charged simply by earning XP; killing enemies with high XP can result in almost immediately recharging your Gauntlet! As you earn XP towards charging the Gauntlet, an indicator icon in the upper left of your screen fills from bottom to top. When it's fully charged, you'll hear a sound letting you know that its ready for use. The Gauntlet itself also changes in appearance when fully charged, usually becoming illuminated and brimming with energy just waiting to be unleashed!
Currently, the only differences between the eight available Gauntlets are cosmetic; each is functionally the same.
Obtaining GauntletsGauntlets may be obtained in one of two ways:
• As Atonement Rewards: Seraph, Artemis, Isis, and Union Gauntlets
• Through a series of side quests: Fire, Ice, Order, and Chaos Gauntlets
Atonements are beyond the scope of this guide. As a simple summary, every time you complete an Atonement challenge, you have a small chance of receiving a Gauntlet as a reward. Starting in Episode 3, it is possible to receive the Seraph Gauntlet, and it's possible to get the Isis Gauntlet as early as Episode 4. The other Atonement Collections become available in Episode 5.
This guide focuses on the four Gauntlets that are crafted through quest pathways available at the end of Episode 5. Unlike the Atonement Gauntlets, there isn't simply a chance you'll receive one; if you complete the quests, you will get a Gauntlet. Preview pictures of these Gauntlets are in the last section of the guide.
About this Steam guideThis guide was updated for for alpha version v1.5.4a, released in late February 2021 (the first Early Access release here on Steam). As with any guide, but particularly for guides written during active game development, everything herein is subject to change, errors, or removal.
Though Maiden Gaming, other players, and myself have tested these quests, you may run into bugs; this is a normal part of a game's alpha development phase. If that happens, don't freak out! Report the bug to the developers using the in-game "Report a Bug" function, or ask about the issue in the Discord #gameplay-feedback channel.
For the guide itself, should you discover errors, need clarification, or wish to offer suggestions, please leave a comment here or find me in the official League of Maidens Discord[discord.gg] , where I am generally quite active.
Choose Your Gauntlet Quest Pathway
Pay Kharon 1k Shards and 10k Gold to go to the Center.
In order from left to right, choose between Fire (Endel), Order (Adeus), Chaos (Ahia), or Ice (Uchida). Aria, tallest and in the middle, does not offer a Gauntlet Quest. Scroll to the bottom of this guide if you'd like pictures to help you decide.
Speak to one of the Cretora avatars to begin.
Since each quest pathway is the same, I've substituted the Gauntlet type with {Element} throughout this guide.
Quest Requirements
Quest: [{Element} Gauntlet of Power Pt. 1] requires:
• 50,000 Shards
• 1 Gold Bar
• 1 Engineering Plans
--Completing this quest awards the {Element} Frame quest item--
Quest: [{Element} Gauntlet of Power Pt. 2] requires:
• 5 Empty Scrolls
• 1 Essence of {Element}
• 1 Pure Arcane Stone
--Completing this quest awards the {Element} Scroll quest item--
Quest: [{Element} Gauntlet of Power Pt. 3] requires:
• 1 {Element} Scroll
• 1 Heart of Atonement
• 1 Pure Arcane Stone
--Completing this quest awards the {Element} Stone quest item--
Quest: [{Element} Gauntlet of Power Pt. 4] requires:
• 1 {Element} Stone
• 1 {Element} Frame
• 1 Pure Arcane Stone
Speak to Kharon again to return to Freedom City. There's no fee.
However, any future trips to the Center will cost 1k Shards and 10k Gold.
Gathering Your Materials
In order to minimize the cost of travel, it's best to have the inventory items necessary to complete the entire pathway before traveling to the Center. See the section at the end of this guide for a comprehensive list of everything you'll need.
Several of the materials needed must be gathered through completing quests or are received as item drops. Because of this, it can be helpful to use several Warmaidens to farm the materials, and then use Extended Storage (available for purchase in the Shop) to gather everything in one place.
Brass Bars are received as bounty rewards, side quest rewards, and rare mobs drops. In the Quest Guide's, select the Side tab, then type "brass" into the search box at the bottom. Click "Search," and the Quest Guide will return a list of all quests for which you may receive Brass Bars as quest rewards, including the bounty quests.
In the Santonia Islands, a couple of traders will exchange 5 Brass Bars for 1 Silver Bar and 5 Silver Bars for 1 Gold Bar. They're near the town center on the main island.
They won't do it for free, though! Each of these transactions costs 5,000 shards and 50,000 Gold. The total cost to exchange 25 Brass Bars up to 1 Gold Bar is 30,000 Shards and 300,000 Gold.
Green Arcane Stones are quite rare, and you'll need a total of 30 of them to exchange for the 3 Pure Arcane Stones required. Green Arcane Stones can be received as Atonement Rewards, side quest rewards, and rare mob drops. You can use the Quest Guide as described above to search for the word "arcane" and find side quests that offer them as a reward. Since these items are so rare, it's a great idea to do these few quests every day.
In the Necropolis Desert, a shady Arcane Trader will exchange 10 Green Arcane Stones for 1 Pure Arcane Stone. He's found in the northeastern part of the map and marked on the map.
Each exchange costs 5,000 shards and 50,000 Gold. Thus you can expect to pay him 15,000 Shards and 150,000 Gold for the 3 necessary Pure Arcane Stones required to complete a gauntlet pathway.
The Heart of Atonement is an exceedingly rare drop and quest item. At the time of this writing, a single, hidden quest offers the item as a reward. A powerful rare enemy also has a chance of dropping it as loot.
Freedom City's fearsome Beast of the Night has a chance of dropping a Brass Bar or Green Arcane Stone, as do the Necropolis Desert's stony Ancient Elementals. Both these enemies drop several other kinds of interesting loot, so it's worth seeking them out in your travels.
Good luck!
