Please Note:
I am only noting things here that are confirmed. There is NO WIKI or other guides available yet. So, in lieu of that, I've decided to post what I know here. So, here it is!
Food
Berry bushes and apple trees can be cut down and planted again! Sometimes you get more than one seed!
Hellhounds, hellboars, pigs, cows, sheep, chickens, goblins, and bugs drop types of meats.
Chickens lay eggs when you put a feeding trough down in front of them and put food in it.
Please note, I have put grass, berries, eggs, meat of all kinds, and apples into the feeding trough and everything has eaten it. Yes, 'disgusting organs' is edible to cows. And beef. Eugh.
Stove recipes:
Fruitx3 = Fruit Jam (+25 health, small satiety)
Eggx3 = Omelette (large satiety, delays hunger)
Egg(s) + meat(s) = Meatballs (some satiety, +15 health)
Meatx3 = All-meat meal (large satiety, delays hunger)
Campfire:
Meat and eggs (disgusting organs are meat) can be cooked here. Fruit cannot.
Enemies
Goblins, bugs, hellbeasts (red eyed boars and dogs only), infected villagers, infected masses of flesh, robots, and giant... rats?
Goblin villages (aboveground only) have a boss in the center that basically requires a LOT of bombs to kill. It summons up to 4 guards with 12 DEF steel armor that chase you down while this thing shoots arrows that pierce infinite walls and objects. They don't destroy anything though. I think. I haven't let it hit the bombs yet, so I could be wrong... Also, they spawn underground starting on layer 1.
Bugs spawn 3 or 4+ layers down. They are mean and fast. Faster than you can push them back with a spear.
Robots spawn 6+ layers down. They fire mortars, lasers, or plasma pulses. They hit hard and fast. You NEED full iron armor to even fight one of the tanks to the death. They just. won't. die. (Note: they actually do, but it takes 20+ hits with a 30DPS weapon.)
Infected villages spawn aboveground, and are treasure hoards of things you can put in the 3 red "DNA"/"hourglass" slots next to your armor. I found 2 in the entire village, and they are the only ones I've found in the entire game so far. The infected walls are... worthless, really. No need to grab them. Can't use the seeds for anything either, as far as I've found so far. The infected masses of flesh hit HARD. They can kill you in 4 hits if they're the larger ones. Smaller ones you can just throw stuff at n kill them in 5-9 hits.
Giant rats and red eyed ("hell-") hounds and boars spawn aboveground. They're easiest to kill up there. Belowground the hounds get HELLA fast (eyyy) and hit a bit harder. Don't let them gang up on you in 4+ or you're dead if you can't kill them fast enough (even with full iron). Weird... yeti? things spawn belowground as well, starting on level 3, I think.
Materials
Robots drop robot stuff that I haven't found a use for yet.
Sulfur spawns in rock. You won't see it until you break the rocks near it. Same goes for coal. And iron. (I've never SEEN the iron though. Just found it in my inventory later.)
Copper is darker than sand. "Golden orange"-ish.
Wood can be placed as walls.
Smelt all the stuff you get. Beds, tables, etc. - although dirt and stone furniture won't deconstruct, so drop said furniture if you want to. Dirt can be turned into saltpeter ore at the gunsmith table. Metal workbenches don't do anything special. Waste of metal. Use copper for stoves and gunsmith tables. Use stone or wood for everything else.
SAVE YOUR DIRT FOR SALTPETER. It takes 3 dirt to make 1 saltpeter.
Sand can be smelted into glass.
Snow and ice spawn belowground. And aboveground maybe, but I haven't found them there yet - although I have found grey ground with tundra trees.
Deconstruct bone stuff at a goblin workbench, and metal stuff at stoves. KEEP YOUR NEARLY DESTROYED METAL TOOLS TO SMELT THEM BACK DOWN! You only get 1 bar back though.
Base Building (and Stopping Monster Spawning)
Currently the spaceship/titanium walls are unbreakable - however, they will be breakable in the future, according to the devs.
Spaceship walls count as blocks you "placed". When you build a room (placing every single wall piece yourself!) mobs will stop spawning within it. However, there is a cap to how big the room can be before the game stops recognizing it as a player 'base'. It is unknown as to how big this is right now. I'd say a 6x6 room is 100% safe, but I'm not sure about any bigger. Fences, walls, blocks of natural materials (including wood!), and doors count as walls. Not sure about double or larger doors though.
TL;DR - build the walls yourself (spaceship walls are 'yours') and anything at or below 6x6 is 100% definitely spawn-proof.
Final Tips
You can make dirt floors and place them down for crop fields.
You CANNOT use the shovel to dig up floors. Nothing can remove floors other than other floors. Once you place it, it's there forever.
Laying in bed saves a waypoint that you can track back home.
Don't be afraid to die! You spawn at the last bed you slept in. Good luck finding your original base if you lose it though, lol.
Make tiki torches! They're much brighter and save on coal/grass.
Best tip: leave a comment with anything you find, and I'll add it!
