How To Pick Fights

in last bot standing you might be one of those players that decides "hmm this dude is closest to me and without any reason why or thought behind the consequences of doing so I will attack this man first" and doesn't get away with it. There is an easy fix to this issue

first off you must learn your enemy

here's the idea

randomswordplayer1: swings left, right, left, right, and jumps occasionally

randomspearflicker2: probably has a macro or something

Limeify: idek anymore

Orange Juice: -8

once you have learned the attack patterns of your enemies, you must decide whom you can take on at the current stage of your upgrade tree

this also requires a good knowledge of which upgrades to choose as that will result in a higher chance of sucessfully murdering someone

now that you understand how to pick fights, maybe you won't be one of the 5 people who die within the first 30 seconds of an LBS match

decide which weapon: better than the other

choose: upgrade

Last Bot Standing

so, in the middle of all this nonsense, I thought I should leave a really long section explaining some LBS the proper way.

first off, picking fights. it doesn't matter if you're one of the best players, or a complete beginner, you HAVE to know how to pick fights.

here is an example.

if a player mains bow, and is claiming max bow, and you're nearby, you probably shouldn't let them get it, but if a player mains sword, and is claiming something like power kick, targeting them out of all players just because they are claiming an upgrade drop you will most likely never use is a dumb move for any player to make.

although yeah if someone is claiming max bow, and you aren't nearby or they are too good for you to dodge their arrows and kill them, you can try to claim max sword to counter them, but that was just an example

picking fights is one thing I see most players fail at doing. Or at least most of the inexperienced players. If I had a penny for every random player I don't recognize who decides to run after me instead of the 5 other people claiming incredibly OP upgrade drops nearby just because I was closest AND completely ignore the fact they might not be upgraded enough to fight me directly, I would need some extras for chicken nuggets.

basically,

if you're playing an LBS match with the intention of winning, going after anyone or anything closest to you without any significant benefit from doing so is a good way to get killed.

second off, upgrade drops

some people have the idea that claiming every single upgrade drop you see will make you unstoppable, unless you get really lucky with the drops that show up and you happen to claim them all, or you're good at utilizing most of them, you're just wasting your time.

I see so many people who go ahead and grab laser, giant size, raptor, power kick, max bow, and all that and then just die in 2 swings from my weapon because they didn't know how to use them.

go after upgrade drops that give you the best advantage, or go after upgrade drops you know how to use, in my case, Max Bow is a good one, or Max Energy if you need to escape from someone or something like a laser, don't just grab anything and everything because giant size and raptor is a really easy combination to kill, and you can't use most of your upgrades effectively with all those upgrades anyway

next, loadouts

now loadouts almost entirely depend on your playstyle, I can't just go ahead and tell you what loadout to pick without completely ruining your strategy, but there are loadouts you should avoid getting as they can be luck-based or just unnecessary

personally I think the worst loadout to get in a large LBS match (7-15 players) is armor and kick.

I don't know if I'm offending anyone because it seems like people do this for some reason I'll never understand, but it doesn't matter why people choose this loadout, it sucks anyway.

since the armor kick loadout pretty much only relies on getting upgrade drops early on, if you're in a game with competent people or a lot of people in general, you have a low chance of getting the upgrade drops you need, and depending on the map, you'll probably just get picked off before you get any

there's also the fire hammer loadout

now I've never seen anymore use this intentionally or for more than 1 match, but it is still a possible loadout so I should mention it.

the fire hammer loadout is pretty much pointless, the hammer is already 9 times out of 10 a one-hit kill so you don't really need fire to spread and finish them off, and even if you do think you need fire hammer to finish off a player, it doesn't make up for the range difference compared to a normal full hammer size hammer

finally for this section we have...

toxic behavior.

sometimes I wonder what's going through the heads of some players in the waiting room after the match where I just killed them, sometimes a player will go from attacking me only if necessary to charging me every game just because I killed them once, and that's not even including all the target teams people make where they invite their friends to help them kill some random dude who just killed a guy to survive

every time you friend someone who was acting this way, they always have some reasonable explanation or act like they don't know what you're talking about, but it's there and it's noticeable

a while ago (before teaming ban update) friends of mine would invite me to join LBS to help them get wins because they were getting killed by someone over and over again and they claimed that that person was targeting them, when after watching them play I notice that the only reason they were getting killed over and over again was because they were dumb enough to run back at the same person over and over again after dying to get revenge. And not only my friends do this, I saw so many other people tell me to stop killing them or get salty despite them obviously running at me every game and leaving me no choice

other people resorted to cheap tactics like literally ONLY using sneak attacks to kill someone because they're too scared to fight normally, or spearflicking to get a chance of surviving as if they couldn't just leave the dude alone...

I'm ranting rn because it's 7 AM, I stayed up all night and I have nobody to talk to about all the annoying things players do when they're desperate to kill someone.

anyway that's the end of the incredibly long LBS section, I hope you enjoyed my advice, I'll probably copy and paste this into another guide and publish it sometime soon.

How To Use Hammer

now this is quite an interesting question because many people have their own ideas as to how to use the hammer weapon and others won't even touch the hammer because they believe it's too worthless to be used

my opinion is far superior to all others, obviously ;)

here I will demonstrate the power of the hammer

now that you know the power of the hammer, here's how to use it

you swing in the direction that has the highest probability of hitting the opponent in question.

Understood? Great. Remember to keep in mind the ping of the server and sync your attacks with that knowledge, dash at exactly a specific moment in the animation to maximize range towards an enemy and add in the speed at which you move when you walk to more accurately predict the position you'll be in after executing the move, and or anticipate the action of the player you're attacking to attack accordingly, example: your understanding of this enemy's strategy + the situation the enemy is in = enemy will jump during your dash so you jump before dashing and account for the range of the hammer, remember to also minimize the risk of getting killed in the process by choosing the path of action that has the most defensive capabilities without hindering the effectiveness of the attack before executing your move.

And you have mastered the hammer. Keep all of that in mind, if you forget it you won't last a second.

How To Use Raptor

please stop spamming raptor kick omg you're basically asking to die

the common strategy is to kick some fool over and flame breath them immediately, while that works on noobs spamming kick until you get someone is nothing but making yourself easier to kill therefore..

You're still gonna raptor kick spam aren't you.

when you swing and you miss but don't have enough time to swing again before the enemy hands you their sword for keeping, it's only reasonable to kick your way to safety.

kickspamming will get you killed in 9/10 scenarios

if you're a second away from getting a piece of your face replaced with someone else's weapon temporarily, you should at least try to kick accurately.

I'm sure many people want to say they got to lvl 100 before.

here is how to do it (I do it so uhh yeah I know what I'm talking about)

that's seriously how long it took for me to get to lvl 500

thank god you can quit the game and come back later

after you have repeated that process for 15 hours and died approximately 7,625,597,484,987 times you may now reach lvl 100.

Random Upgrade Challenge

I hear quite a lot of people are having difficulty with this challenge, now in order to get to lvl 50 to prove you have what it takes, you have to be quite good at improvising.

first off, get good at everything, literally every combination of upgrades against every single enemy.

and then you'll be fine

Tips And Tricks

one of the most common misconceptions is that speed is key in this game which can be very much true in certain scenarios but depending on who you're fighting you leave yourself quite defenseless if your enemy were patient and happened to dodge your swing so here's a pro tip maybe you shouldn't just jump at someone whenever and however you want because I'm pretty sure you're gonna die Jeremy.

that's actual advice btw, I know right? Crazy, it's a joke in itself that this joke guide has actual advice hidden in it
