How to Play the Updated Version

Part I: Intro

I know there's already guide on the discussion page, but none of those seems work to me, especially the original one (No hard feelings :D). I know I'm not alone, so I made this guide in case there's another player encountering the same issue as I am.

So basically when u got this game, it won't work at first run on Updated ver, and the Original one got GM error. So the updated one got error 0xc00007b. It occur when you attempt to run a 32-bit game/software on a 64-bit supported platform.

How do you know if u encounter “0xc00007b/0xc000007b” error: 1. Execute HotlineMiami.exe thru game's folder (not steam)

2. Select the updated version, then run the game

3. A dialog box showing error might show up (this won't showed up when I run the game via Steam)

Missing files? Yup, there's missing files in the game directory such as "msvcp100.dll", "xinput1_2.dll", etc. those were the missing files that the game needs to read i guess.

The game already include the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable installer (vcredist_x86.exe) in the redist folder but it doesn't work to me and the game doesn't include the directx runtime installer to the redist folder (i think) because it doesn't include when I installed it.

Part II: What You'll Need!

Here's the all the files u need:

Part 3: Solving The Problem

After downloading the files, extract it to your desired place

Next you got a folder named 32 and 64 (select this based on your system type. if u don't know: click right This PC on your desktop and select properties, and it should be showing your system type)

Copy & paste all the file inside the folder to your game's root (i also put openal dll file just in case)

So basically what you need to do is put all the .dll files to the game's folder / root

(SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\hotline_miami)

You might want to run the game now (remember, the updated one)

It will show a white screen, then proceed to the loading screen.
