Who Is Faust ((and Why He Is Your Dad))

Faust is the resident wacky character of guilty gear strive, and is commonly considered to by kind of bad. but i am here to tell you that faust is secretly an eldritch god posing as a random doctor man and how he is actually super cool and awesome and a top tier and how he is a pro gamer or something.

Things Faust Is Good At

faust is good 3 primary things

1: setups and controlling neutral

2: sniffing glue

3: making your opponent want to sniff glue

so lets go over them one by one

setups and controlling neutral: Controlling neutral is what ya boy faust was made to do in this game, his big boy normals take up huge portions of the screen, and he even has a special move that will lock down your opponent from anywhere, and potentially get huge damage off it.

But what do you do with all these normals? Faust has lacking conversions and doesnt get a ton of damage off his pokes!!! I hear the ramlethal mains whisper to me through the 4th dimension and into my mentally handicapped head. That is where the setup part of fausts plan comes up, and his signature move: item toss. Item toss is a special attack where you toss a random item at your opponents head, and depending on what you throw at them you can get some hella wack ♥♥♥♥, whether it be something as simple as doing a crossup with scarecrow when you get meteors, to something such as doing a fullscreen wallbreak conversion with nothing but a trumpet, a bomb, and 9 hours of your life in training mode trying to do this one damn combo that has a literal 4.823% chance of ever actually happening in game.

the man faust was made to be random and wacky, and that means your gameplan isnt set in stone like other characters. What you want to be doing in a match will change constantly and eternally be in flux, so it is up to you to improv every decision you make with him.

How To Make Your Damage Not Worse Than My Social Skills

faust normally has pretty mediocre damage, but with some improv, creativity, and item luck. you can make your opponents health bar disappear faster than my dad at my birthday party.

your main damage is going to be coming from counterhits if you dont have any items onscreen, things like 6hs, 5hs, and far slash can confirm into a scalpel pull on counterhit, leading to some big ♥♥♥♥ damage and item setups.

your other damage is going to be coming from giving your enemies some fresh ass afro's and then promptly removing them from existence by blowing them into the 7th dimension

AFRO GAMING.

afro gaming is a term used collectively by faust players all over the world to refer to the dopamine hit that happens when you apply afro to your opponent and get 4 free 50/50 mixups on them for literally no risk to yourself at all. Applying afro is easily fausts most powerful tool, and essentially gives you sol damage and millia mixups at the same time after landing your command grab. so do it as much as you can, but also don't become predictable because you will eat ♥♥♥♥.

Bad

despite everything, faust struggles against some characters in the video game, so do avoid the follwing enemy gamers
