How to identify a ghost type in the first minute

Identify The Ghost Type

When the game starts, bring these things

1. Holy Fire

2. UV flashlight

3. Lighter

or

1. EMF (if necessary)

2. UV flashlight

3. Lighter

or

1. Flashlight (if necessary)

2. UV flashlight

3. Lighter

Get into the building and do these things. If the main quest is completed, you will have some clues about the ghost.

1. Light up 3 candles

If the quest is completed: the ghost can be Vampire, Demon, or Gallows

1.1 Use your UV flashlight. If you see a footprint, the ghost is Vampire

1.2 If you can't see the footprint, get back to your friends.

Either high EMF (> 3) or high temperature = the ghost is Demon.

Either low EMF (> 4) or low temperature (around 0) = the ghost is Gallows.

(Also, Demon can open doors and light up candles. Gallows can't. Telling the ghost type from doors and candles can make you look more like a professional ghost buster.)

2. Turn on 5 light bulbs

If the quest is completed: the ghost can be Child or Darkness

2.1 Use your UV flashlight. If you see a footprint, the ghost is Child. Otherwise, Darkness.

***At this point, only Poltergeist, Jiangshi, and Drowned are left. You can do it in two paths depending on the situation. If it is possible, please keep Holy Fire with you. Holy fire can protect you from these three ghosts. Importantly, if Jiangshi tries to attack you. You can immediately complete the first main quest by throwing Holy Fire at him.***

Path 1 Brute force

3. Turn on 5 water taps

If the quest is completed: the ghost is Drowned

4. Open all doors

If the quest is completed: the ghost is Poltergeist Otherwise, Jiangshi.

Path 2 Water taps + EMF

3. Turn on 5 water taps

If the quest is completed: the ghost is Drowned

4. Meanwhile, look at the EMF. If the signal can be higher than 3, the ghost can be either Drowned or Jiangshi. Otherwise, Poltergeist.

Or ask you friends to see if the temperature can be lower than -5. If so, the ghost is Drowned.

Some Tips That May Help You

1. You can thrown the objects while being caught. If you are not confident with your aim, feel free to get caught. You can also identify the ghost type by simply letting it hunt and skipping the first 3 TAB quests.

2. In insane mode, when the ghost starts hunting, drop your flashlight on the floor and stand in its ray. Drop other items except the item that can actually protect you and crouch!. If the ghost forces you to drop the item, crouching will cause the item to drop just in front of you. You can easily pick it up and play insane mode like easy mode.

3. Learn to use fire salt and holy salt. They are cheap and illuminate in the dark. The holy salt can be used with any ghosts. The Fire salt can be used with some ghosts (except the darkness). When you turn on 5 light bulbs and nothing happens, you can definitely use the fire salt.

4. Sometimes, letting your friend complete the quest with free items may be better than buying multiple identical items.

5. Not every side quest pays you well.

6. TAB quests are important but not necessary. Waiting for voodoo/radio/board is time-consuming. Focus on the ritual. Just randomly pick the answer based on what you know and do the ritual. You can get the answer of TAB quests by completing a ritual step instead.
