FFXIV: Guide to making Gil

Introduction

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 1

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 2

I'm writing this guide for every player to access whether new or old to hopefully use as a resource to the various ways of Gil making. While I cannot cover every single gil making method in the game, a majority of these methods I have personally used and discovered through various players I have encountered and watched.

By no means do I claim to be the first to use or "own" these methods because there are A LOT of guides and videos out there that cover the same thing in their own way.

If you are just here for straight forward Gil making methods then you probably want to skip down to the bottom. BUT if you really want to know your options then I would recommend getting comfy and grabbing some snacks.

DISCLAIMER:

A lot of the methods I am going to mention have a lot more depth to them when getting into the specifics of things that I wont mention but regardless, WILL require you to do your own digging and research within your server's market board to guarantee your own success.

Getting that out of the way, why would you trust me?

Well, why wouldn't you trust a stranger on how to make Gil? With the little credibility I have

and smol amount of wealth I've made

I think you can trust some of the things here...

While I may not be Gil Capped yet like a certain someone[cdn.discordapp.com] that I know. This is more than enough credibility. I have a pretty good understanding of gil making and was just like you desperately searching for ALL the ways to make gil.

I had pretty much leveled my gatherers to 80 during my ARR-HW time and only focused on making gil and the only reason I ever continued story was because I learned there were more mining nodes locked behind MSQ

The Basics

There are MANY ways to make Gil in-game, but in my opinion there are 3 main competitors: Crafters, Gatherers and Combat Classes.

Crafters take the number one spot because of the amount of gear, cosmetics, housing items and materials they can sell in rapid succession.

Gatherers are straight forward compared to the other competitors by providing crafters with raw material, rare materials and crystals.

DoW/DoM classes are the easiest way to make Gil and have the most unique way of making Gil by being able to use the systems given by the game such as; Grand Company, Dailies, Extreme trials and mob drops.

Beginner Level: Combat Classes

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 20

The easiest way to make gil is using your Combat Class, not only will you be progressing with the story with these classes, but it gets easier the more levels and gear you get.

Gil making methods are very limited and tedious for Combat Classes in the early game and can't really hit those big profit margins until Endgame

Even so, Combat Classes will most likely be the method for you if you don't have the time and don't want to throw Gil at levelling Crafters and Gatherers.

Daily Roulettes

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 25

This method is probably the most common and straight forward method anyone will tell you.

Dailies may seem underwhelming and straight forward however, the rewards from dailies add up overtime and are a good source of passive income.

Dalies will reward you with EXP, Gil and Tomestones depending on your level.

While it is not necessary it is worth mentioning, if you are not in a rush to finish your dailies then it might be worth your time to wait for the respective "Adventurer in need" bonus for your class.

Cracked Plainclusters and Stellaclusters can be exchanged for materia and then be sold on the marketboard.

Poetics

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 32
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 33

Poetics are unlocked at level 50 and are rewarded from dalies and are spendable after completing ARR. If you don't plan to use your poetics for gear or relics I would recommend stocking up on either Unidentifiable Bone or Unidentifiable Shell.

You will be able to exchange these in Idyllshire's Tomestone exchange, from Bertana under "Uncanny Knickknacks" in exchange for Grade 3 Shroud topsoil or Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil.

The Idyllshire poetics vendors are unlocked after finishing the Heavensward expansion.

Challenge Log

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 38

Challenge logs are a pretty passive method of gaining gil, but can come in handy in the early game for some spending cash.

Using my server's price for reference, prices may vary

Mob drops are exclusive drops from well... mobs. A lot of mob drops are complete junk that aren't worth your time farming even as you reach higher levels. But, you know what they say.

One man's junk is another man's treasure.

This was my go to farm method for easy profit throughout those long Queue times. I would only realistically RECOMMEND this method if you want some spending cash because this will really only help you if you are new/starting out.

That being said, here is the list of what you should be killing.

Farm RoutesI will only post the mob locations within the areas they are located and let YOU decide where you want to farm.

Also a HUGE shout out to those that contribute to the lodestone playguide.

More specifically to Maso Meso and Elyth Theria comments who helped a lot with this section.

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 70
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 71
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 72

Retainers are one of the best free features in the game that is a must have in order to maximize profits. Retainers services are very beneficial in tons of ways that the game does an okay job of explaining on its own, but to sum it up:

Retainers are like personal vendors who carry up to 5 pages of inventory storage, gather materials/mob drops depending on what class you assign them to and most importantly, allow you to sell on the market.

The game gives you 6 Venture Tokens to start you off with your first retainers

Your first problem while setting up your retainer is probably going to be deciding what job/class to assign it to.

Your options will be the following: FSH, MIN, BTN, and all Combat classes.

While you COULD look up what each retainer job has to offer and collect; it really won't do you any good because you will not have the knowledge and experience to know what you personally need.

I would HIGHLY recommend to just choose whatever gathering class you are interested in, along side your combat class OR if you know what crafters you plan to level first, then choose a gatherer that will help your chosen crafter.

You can always reset your retainers job and choose exactly what you want at later stages in the game at the expense of having to level them up again. Retainers will always be useful and are super beneficial throughout your time playing even if you aren't big on crafting or gathering because they'll save you a lot of time and gil.

Your second problem after acquiring your retainer is actually getting Venture Tokens

There are only a few ways of actually getting Venture tokens, but the only method that matters is through your Grand Company. More info in grand company section

Making gil with your retainer Depending on your server

Retainer drops will most likely be really cheap and will probably go for under ≤500 gil.

I would recommend just leveling/gearing up your retainers and RESEARCH your own market board to figure out the best profit you can get from them.

If you are unsure or too lazy to research your own market board then I would recommend just making your retainer gather raw materials for Airship/Submarine component's or gather Shards/Crystals.

Another thing you can do if you don't feel like managing them every hour is to just send your retainer on Quick Explorations or Feld/Highland exploration for other goodies.

The only real stat that matters for retainers is Gathering for DoL and Item level for DoM/W

High gathering = More drops

High Item level = More drops

Both is good.

You can ALWAYS use your retainer for something so make sure to always keep them active. An idle retainer is a bad retainer.

Unlocking RetainersAfter completing your MSQ Mission, "The Scions of the Seventh Dawn" (lvl 17) you'll need to complete;

An Ill-conceived Venture

Beginner Level: Grand Company

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 100
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 101
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 102

Your Grand Company is another great feature in the game that is surprisingly versatile, on top of being a gil method in of itself, it provides some unique ways of saving gil through the Squandron System and Hunts.

The only problem is that all the methods used in making the most out of your grand company are locked behind your Grand Company Rank.

With that being said, you should really just focus on ranking up your GC Rank to Sergeant Second Class At this rank you unlock all the features that will help save a lot of Gil via Hunt Board, and Squadrons.

Just make sure to always look for any in your respective Grand Company area.

Farming Grand Company SealsEarly game ranking up within your Grand Company sucks. You don't unlock the BEST way of farming Company Seals until, you guessed it, Sergeant Second Class.

Your only source of Company Seals will come from your Grand Company Hunting log, Grand Company Delivery, Dailies and Beast tribes.

Expert DeliveryUnlocked at Sergeant Second class, basically the game lets you hand over Gear in exchange for Company seals based on Item level.

Which is pretty handy when you want to get rid of gear you will never use again or dungeon drops. Expert Delivery will be the BEST way to farm Company Seals once you have your combat class leveled.

Gil methods - Grand CompanyOkay so maybe you get the message that you need to be at Sergeant Second Class

So what are your options in terms of making Gil?

The only tabs that matter within Grand Company Seal exchange are Material and Materials. These are the things I would recommend exchanging.

Private-CorporalVenture tokens - BEST method to acquire Venture Tokens to pay your retainers.

Sergeant Second Class

Furniture/Housing items - Unique to company

Cordial - Potion used by gatherers

Company-Issue manual - EXP boost till level 50 for DoH/DoL

Second Lieutenant

Coke - Material for DarkSteel

Hardened Sap - Material used for Treated Spruce Lumber

Scheelite - Material used for Wolfram Ingot (BSM Master Recipe 1)

Petrified Log - Material used for Ancient Lumber (CRP Master Recipe 1)

Tawnty Latex - Material used for Terminus Putty (ACH Master Recipe 1)

Kingcake - Material for anima relic

Titanium alloy Mirror - Material for anima relic

Adamantite Francesca - Material for anima relic

Dispelling Arrow - Material for anima relic

As always, make sure to check your market board

HuntsUnlocked through that magical icon within your grand company area at Sergeant second class

Hunts are exactly what it sounds like, Daily/Weekly hunts for mobs in exchange for gil and a currency called Allied Seals.

While the gil may not seem that impressive, the main thing that will come in handy are the Allied Seals.

More hunts are unlocked as you progress through Heavensward,Stormblood and Shadowbringers. That I wont go over.

Exchanging sealsTalking to your local Hunt Billmaster will allow you to exchange these seals for some mediocre gear and decent goodies. Here are the only things worth exchanging.

Aetheryte Ticket - Never spend gil on teleporting again. (Free teleport)

Valfruit Seeds - ONLY exchange if you have access to a gardening plot

O'Ghomoro Berry Seeds - ONLY exchange if you have access to a gardening plot

The BEST way to farm allied seals is with blue mage via Blue Mage log and Masked Carnivale. I wont go into details because that's a whole other guide.

Beginner Level: Gatherers

Gathering is personally one of my favorite Gil methods and was my original source of income. While some may call it very boring, I personally think its a really relaxing activity and one of the easiest and simplest method of making Gil. You just pick up a tool and gather away.

DoH Description Location MIN, mines and hits rocks Ul'dah - Steps of Thal[cdn.discordapp.com] BTN, Harvest and hits trees Old Gridania[cdn.discordapp.com]

Leveling gatherersAs you're probably going to find out on your own, gathering is just stat checks and somewhat managing your GP, but this really won't be a problem until you reach past 50 and are trying to hit milestone levels 58,65,70,80.

There's is really only a couple of ways to level gatherers other than just gathering and the REALLY good ways of leveling gatherers are locked until the start and end of Heavenward, but even so, here are your options:

Grand Company Delivery MissionsEXP scales with level for Gatherer

HQ deliveries give double EXP

Levequest

- Gain 3 every 12 hours.

- Store up to 100 Levequest

Collectables

- Unlocked at the start of Heavensward

- Access to Yellow/white Gatherers' Scrip

Diadem

- Unlocked at the end of Heavensward

- BEST method to level gathering jobs

Custom Deliveries

- Unlocked at Idyllshire

- Weekly source of White/Yellow Scrip

More details on this later

Making profitWhile doing almost anything is profitable as a gatherer, a lot of it is just complete junk and is not worth your time gathering.

While I would love to tell you every single junk node and non-junk node worth farming, its just way too much unnecessary information that you can discover on your own.

If you think you'll have trouble finding stuff to gatherer, here are a few recommendation

Unspoiled nodes - (Timed nodes unlocked @ lvl 46) are pretty much where a majority of your money making is going to come from as a gatherer.

Class quest items - Slower method, but people will buy class quest items instead of gathering it themselves

Housing Recipes - Popular housing items used A LOT in housing like White Rectangular Partition are a good start

Normal/Master Recipes - Browse over recipes for crafters and gather the raw materials used to make those recipes

Ishgard Restoration Recipes - Ishgard restoration recipes require a material from the diadem accessible to only gatherers

Airships/Submarines components - Materials needed in bulk and will always be bought

Timeworn maps - Unlocked past lvl 40+ always hidden, recommend going for Boarskin Map in the early game. More unlocked at later stages of the game

Miner Nodes

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 170
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 171
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 172
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 173

Miner is by far my favorite gatherer of choice and is my most knowledgeable gatherer between Botanist and Fisher. While there really isn't anything different or special with the job, one thing worth noting is that miner pairs REALLY well with BSM/ARM/GSM

As I said before, I would love to talk about each and every ore in the game and their uses but that's waaay too much unnecessary information that you can find out on your own.

Anyways, here is my recommendation on what to mine:

Honorable mentionOther things worth your time to look into.

Mythril Ore

Silver ore

Electrum ore

Ferberite ore

Volcanic Rock Salt

Granite

Grade 3 Shroud Topsoil

Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil

Botanist Nodes

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 188
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 189

Botanist is just like miner, except I'm not very knowledgeable of the specifics within the Botanist field, but through my gathering journey I have learned that Miner and Botanist are very similar and basically mirror each other and is equally as good as miner. Botanist also pairs REALLY well with WVR/LTW/ALC

Honorable mentions Any log in the game!

Scarlet sap

Silkworm cocoon

Desert saffron

Collectables are pretty self-explanatory and the game does a good enough job explaining them, so not much needs to be really said. The only thing you really need to know is that collectables are for both gatherers and crafters and is the only method to farm Yellow Scripts and White Scrips.

White scrips unlocked @ 80

Collectables for GatherersGatheres have a much easier time farming yellow scrips early on in comparison to crafters, because as a gatherer you just need to hit a node that basically acts as an unspoiled node except this time you are going to see this:

As of patch 5.4 this is the new collectible system for gatherers. The game does a pretty good job at explaining everything in the UI so I won't really cover everything you see.

By default you start off with 400 GP and you really cant really do anything different in terms of rotation until you reach 700-800 GP more on this later

So for now I would recommend just playing with each abilities, but for the most part your rotation is going to look like this:

Miner:

Scrutiny>Meticulous Prospector>Scrutiny>Meticulous Prospector

Botanist:

Scrutiny>Meticulous Woodsman>Scrutiny>Meticulous Woodsman

Depending on your Integrity and Collectability at the end of your rotation, you will decide if you want to gather now or reach max Collectability

Collectables for CraftersCrafters need to a do a little bit more work for collectables by reaching the highest quality to determine Collectability while also completing the craft. Early levels of farming collectables may require multiple materials in HQ that you cannot self-craft/gather just yet or is a little too expensive to buy on the market, but even so, some crafters have it easier than other, so make sure to double check your recipes/market

Miniscule information There's a Collectable Appraiser in all 3 major starting cities

After completing ARR or "The Ultimate Weapon" you can also exchange your scrips to "Rowella's Representatives" by this icon Also in all 3 major cities and 2 more unlocked later.

Unlocking CollectablesThe game does A pretty awful job at telling you how to unlock collectables unless you go in A wiki rabbit-hole, so I'm here to explain it to you, kinda.

IMPORTANT!!! These quest pretty much unlock all important features for both Crafters and Gatherers!. I would recommend picking other Blue quest in Mor Dhona

Weekly deliveries are just another set of weeklies for both gatherer and crafters. The game does a pretty good job of explaining deliveries so I'll just talk about their applications.

Deliveries will be your best source of Yellow/White scrips and EXP and some gil. Sadly they are called a weekly for a reason and you really can't use this until the end of Heavensward.

Unlocking weekly deliveriesRequirments: Lvl 60+ Gatherer/Crafter

Go, West Craftsman

Unlocking more clientsFor the sake of my sanity, I am only going to teach you how to unlock M'naago (Stormblood) and Kai-Shirr (Shadowbringers) a bit later....

There are a lot more clients for deliveries than the two I'm mentioning here and ideally you unlock them so you can always look for a bonus, but you really don't unlock them until you beat Stormblood and Shadowbringers AND go through some tedious quest.

If you'd like a full list of all available Custom Delivery clients and their unlock conditions, I'd recommend using the Custom Deliveries wiki page.[ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com]

Aetherial Reduction

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 243
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 244

Aetherial Reduction allows you to break down items from Ephemeral Nodes which are pretty much just collectables, except Ephemeral nodes act like normal nodes throughout their entire time frame instead of disappear after one go at it.

On top of being a gil method in of itself, ephemeral nodes are also a REALLY good source of Crystals and Clusters.

Unlocking Aetherial ReductionRequirements:

You're probably going to have trouble figuring out when and where every single timed and unspoiled nodes spawn unless you're just built different, but even so, have this REALLY good website called garlandtools[garlandtools.org] .

Pretty self explanatory website being a huge resources for gathering, I personally just use garland bell.

Beginner Level: Crafters

DoHDescriptionLocationCRPBSM
ARMGSMLTWWVRALCCUL

Crafters are by the far the BEST way to create Gil in-game. You are able to craft and sell gear, items, materials in rapid succession, the only problem is reaching this point...

Leveling and gearing crafters can be a huge Gil sink that throws a lot of players off. When you decide to get into crafting you are playing the long-game not the short-term game.

, used to craft Necklaces/Bracelets (Accessories) and Furniture New Gridania[cdn.discordapp.com] , used to craft most Main-Hand Weapons for

all jobs.Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks[cdn.discordapp.com] , mainly used to craft Belts and armor for Tank classes and all shields for PLD.Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks[cdn.discordapp.com] , mainly used to craft Rings, Earrings and braclets for all jobs similiar to carpenter. Ul'dah - Steps of Thal[cdn.discordapp.com] , used to craft a lot of main clothing pieces and glamours, goes really well with .Old Gridania[cdn.discordapp.com] , similar to but filling in the gaps and also able to craft glamour pieces. Syrup and Weapons for SMN/SCH Ul'dah - Steps of Thal[cdn.discordapp.com] , mainly used to craft Food buffs and desynthesis fish Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks[cdn.discordapp.com]

Leveling craftersLeveling up crafters will end up taking A LOT of inventory and armoury space, so I would HIGHLY recommend you level all your crafters together or collectively to prevent having a ton of gear and materials clogging up your inventory.

There are a lot of ways to level up crafters but.... in MY opinion you don't really unlock the BEST way until the end of Heavensward via Ishgard Restoration[na.finalfantasyxiv.com] , but if you are like me and enjoy passively leveling up your classes, then there are a few things you can do to gain levels.

Grand Company Delivery Missions

Very good EXP scales with level

HQ deliveries give double EXP

Levequest

Gain 6 daily (Max 100)

Class dependent (Different materials)

Unlocked at Adventurers' guild

Beast Tribes

Ixali beast tribe (ARR)

Moogle Beast tribe (HW)

Namazu Beast tribe. (StB)

Dwarf Beast tribe (ShB) (I recommend picking up)

Isghard restoration

By far the best way to level up

Cheap materials on MB or can self-gather own matts

Kupo fortune = chance for insane gil

Making profitYou don't need to have all your crafters leveled to make profit, it just really helps out to be able to craft your own materials instead of always relying on the market board. Ironically, as a crafter you're going to have to rely on the market board even if you plan to self-supply.

Just because you can craft everything from scratch, doesn't mean you should.

In your crafting journey, you're going to have to spend money to make money because time is money, literally.

Because of how much gear and items you can craft and sell in this game there is no single best thing to sell. To make profit, you are going to HAVE to research your market board and find cheap materials and turning them around to profit.

A REALLY good example of a crafter who can do this a lot is . Here are basic methods to consider:

Materials - There are a lot of material out there that cannot be bought from vendors that are really cheap to craft and go for quite a bit.

Gear - While most gear in this game can be bought from vendors, it doesn't stop people from buying it on the market board for double the price...

Housing items - There are A LOT of housing items in the game that you can guarantee will sell because of how often they are used in house glitching or just look nice.

Glamour - There is a lot of drip and revealing cosmetics that are guaranteed to sell to their respective audience.

Dyes - Also can be bought from vendors but that doesn't stop people from buying for 10x the price. Keep an eye out for the weekly Fasion report and sell those dyes.

Market board tips When selling items on the market board you should really think whether its better to sell items in bulk, single or sets.

While you may just focus on a single method in the early game, always try different things to have as a "back up" or to maximize profits.

An unspoken rule that isn't enforced *cough* is that you should undercut by 1 gil

Server hop, one item might be super expensive on your server but REALLY cheap on another and if you are feeling frisky, consider flipping prices. Universalis . app

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 305
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 306
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 307
FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 308

Desynthesis is by far my favorite type of gil making to do in game. Desynthesis allows crafters to break down gear and weapons into their original materials with a chance of receiving rare material. You will not get most value of desynthesis until later stages of the game but still worth picking up and playing around with.

Unlocking DesynthesisRequirements:

Lvl 30+ on any crafter

Desynthesis Skills

Desynthesis skill is just what level your desynthesis is for that crafter. Every item has A optimal skill rating, which just means the higher level your desynthesis skill is from that skill rating, the higher chance you have of receiving rare materials from your desynthesis.

Desynthesis LevelingThere are really only a few ways to level up your desynthesis skill, and all of them pretty much require you to spend money on the marketboard. While not necessary, but efficient I would recommend picking up some Bacon Broth & Tinker's Calm HQ/NQ.

If you want to save money I would recommend desynthesising Yellow/White Scrip gear, otherwise...

You're going to have to resort to the marketboard and FIND cheap materials that turn into gear and craft it yourself.

Another faster but semi-pricy method is FINDING cheap housing items within your server for your respective crafter.

You might find this a lot harder and pricy when reaching high levels for certain crafters, while others will have it easier *cough* GSM, but sadly that's just how it is

You can always desynthesis old gear you will never use, dungeon drops, retainer drops and extreme trial drops.

Gil methodsSpeaking of Extreme trials, desynthesis goes REALLY well with extreme farming and is the best use for desynthesis. Almost all extreme trials have a special material drop that usually goes for A LOT and surprise, surprise you can desynthesis the weapon drops from these extremes for that special material.

Sadly though, unless you're crazy and want to farm ARR/HW extremes you're not going to make a lot of profit through this method UNTIL the end of Stormblood and ShadowBringers.

I would also recommend leveling ARM desynthesis skill level first IF you think you will end doing A LOT of extreme trial farming. Otherwise there is no best desynthesis skill to level first.

Okay, so maybe you aren't so new to this game now and don't need me to hold your hand. Unless...?

At this stage of the game, hopefully you are already finished Stormblood or are relatively close, because with just how dry Stormblood was, nothing big really changes for both gatherers and crafters until you finish Shadowbringers.

GatherersGatherers just get better farming methods from unlocking new nodes, unspoiled nodes, collectables, ephemeral nodes, timeworn maps, and a few new client for Custom Deliveries.

You will find stuff much easier to sell than before because some raw materials used at this stage of the game tie into lvl 70+ recipes and collectables. Not much else really needs to be said, just explore your options.

CraftersAs for Crafters you will probably only have one or two crafters leveled around 60~ and hopefully geared, regardless, you are either having a really good time or regretting your choice of crafter. Just like gatherers, nothing much changes at this stage of the game for crafters.

Being lvl 60+ just means you can guarantee HQ of previous recipes and are open to more master/normal recipes for you to explore.

Weekly Delivery clientAs mentioned before, I would tell you how to uniock a New client for Deliveries (M'naago)

Being level 70+ and geared opens TWO new methods, but realistically only one real effective method to start raking in gil with your combat class. With the assumption you are finished with Stormblood down bellow are the new methods you now have access to.

Unsynced extreme trials are one of the best ways to make gil as a combat class. All you need to do is be geared and know what you are getting yourself into. The only problem with this method is finding party's willing to accept people who aren't max level.

You can pretty much profit out of all extreme trials in the game if you know your way around the market, but even so, I would highly recommend to only farm extreme trials in Stormblood and Shadowbringers for consistent profit.

As always, research on your market board first in order to know what is worth your time to farm because some extremes are more profitable than others but might take longer and vice versa.

What trial to farmWhether or not this is the first time you've tried to farm an extreme trial I would highly recommend farming:

So you just arrived at Shadowbringers and are most likely at your final reach of hitting 80 on your crafter or maybe you already beat Shadowbringers and just want to know how to make gil...

Either way, you pretty much need to beat story for this section and there is one last last thing I need to talk about that revolves around one IMPORTANT quest called "The Boutique Always Wins" for both gatherers and crafters that is unlocked near the start of Shadowbringer.

You unlock access to level 70+ items, gear and most importantly Master VIII recipes for crafters. This gear will pretty much carry you to 80 and make life easier for your crafters/gatherers.

Anyways, here's the quest.

Requirments:

City of Final Pleasures

Go West, Craftsman

70+ crafter/gatherer

Necessary quest to unlock Kai-Shirr post-shadowbringers as your "third" client, just check around Eulmore for "Oh, Beehive Yourself"

Gil methods - levequestBy far the most common and easy gil method that I would recommend if you really don't really want to worry about having the best stats or crafting master recipes.

CUL dominates this field because of how effective their levequest "A Cookie for Your Troubles" is, needing to craft Coffee Biscuits, that craft in 3's. Realistically you can choose any levequest that give you that 3 for 1 deal, just find what works best for you.

Though if you want to maximize your gil profit then i would recommend checking Ashe10's video on levequest

Unlocking Crystarium levequestRequirments:

Travelers of Norvrandt

Lvl 70+ crafter/gatherer

Raid Gear

By far my favorite method of gil farming because of how rapid things sell, but the only problem with this method is the gear investment, 4 star Master Recipes are no joke. You are going to need a lot more than just white scrip gear to make this A effective method.

ONTOP of NEEDING to successfully make the craft into HQ you are going to have to fight on the market board and consider how you are going to supply yourself. If you decide to go through this route, just be prepared to be mentally drained...

Master recipesThere are also 3 star Master Recipes like aesthete gear that is just lvl 80 gear for crafters/gatherers that is less demanding in terms of stats. Also if you have CUL or ALC leveled you can also consider selling Raid Food and Tinctures.

Yellow/White ScripsOnce reaching 80 you unlock the BEST collectables to maximize your white/yellow scrip gain. I would recommend picking a farming method that is best suitable for you, whether it be to self-gather or using your retainers, have a method.

Selling materials and Materia from scrip exchange at this stage of the game is pretty profitable depending on your market and how you manage your resources.

Glamours/Latest recipesAlways remember that there are latest recipes and old recipes within housing and cosmetics to always explore and consider crafting.

Resource/Extra info.Best tip I can tell you is just invest into white scrip gear this late into the expansion, unless you reaallyy plan to grind these last remaining months before EndWalkers.

The BEST resource I can give you is telling you about is Craftaholic Central. They are A amazing community with a LOT more resources and helpful information/people in their Discord giving you a more in-depth look into leveling, stat checks, melding and macros.

Endgame: Gatherers

FFXIV: Guide to making Gil image 403

End-game gathering is pretty simple, you just need gear for that gathering stat check and decide if you want Quantity over Quality or vice-versa. Just like how I mentioned in the crafter's section.

I would HIGHLY recommend picking up lvl 70 gear through collectibles and consider smol gear upgrades to farm White scrips for lvl 80 gear. In comparison to crafter, gatherers is pretty under-whelming at this stage of the game and is pretty much used to self-supply or sell on patch day.

There is a reason why bots run this market...

Also worth mentioning, if you want to MAXIMIZE profits as a gatherer at this stage, you need to have flying unlocked in all zones and have a stock of Hi-Cordial/Cordial potions.

Gil methods - Unspoiled nodesBy far your best method of gil making at end-game will still be unspoiled nodes, even if you don't gatherer the latest stuff, there is still a market to be found with previous Unspoiled nodes/Folklore books. Also, as much as I would love to make a smol graphic info about each unspoiled node unlocked at this stage, I would much rather you use garlandtools bell[garlandtools.org] .

How to unlockAfter completing that one special quest mentioned before "The Boutique Always wins", you will need to talk to this lady for a total of 40 Regional Folklore Trade's Token that will cost you 4000 yellow scrips for your respective gatherer.

Yellowscrip/Whiite scrip farmingHonestly pretty useless in terms of gil making at this stage of the game but worth mentioning because maybe you can self-supply or figure out your own method through this... might be useful to stock on the release of Endwalkers?

Map AllowanceUsually a free 50k~70k for picking up A Timeworn Zonureskin Map, that any gatherer can collect.

Ephemeral nodesYou will unlock new nodes that will produce Levinstrike Aethersand when using Aetherial Reduction. Just like before I recommend using Garlandtools bell[garlandtools.org]

Just make sure to filter it properly!

GP RotationI don't really need to say anything because Craftaholic Central Video and video description says it best,

"The different rotations are situational and tend to be more practical depending on what you are doing in the game and in RL during your gathering time."

Potential F.A.Q

1. Why didn't you mention X?

A. I did not explore that method to its fullest and do not want to give BAD information aka Fisher

B. As mentioned at the start there are 20+ more methods I could of added but would look like A barf of text like the end-game section so it is being left out.

2. TL:DR?

Crafters: Levequest

CombatClasses: Extreme trials

Gatherers: Scroll back up

3. Who are you?

Honestly for the sake of having some validation you can find me @

Crystal - Diabolos, Smol Shmuel

Usually outside my home @ Shirogane W10,P55

I won't give handouts, but maybe your willing to do some hard larbor for my personal gain...Just kidding! unless...

Final thoughtsHonestly this game is called an MMO for a reason, you can honestly make gil solely through the social aspect of the game. If you made it this far and actually read through the whole thing, i hope you learned something...

I reviewed this guide like a hundred times, but if I made a mistake or put misleading information contact me or write A angry comment.
