General Tree Planting Concept
I am not going to invent any new general planting method, simply because it is not possible.
Yes, in the reality, to create forests people now are using even an airplanes and drones to drop seeds, but we are far from these in here 😉
To plant trees we need:
Tractor, which can be even a small, but it is very important to have 3-Point Attacher
A seeder, as I already mention I am not using any additional mods, but just the basic game equipment - so there is only one available
And of course saplings by our choice, I am using a mod just because there are more pieces available, price of it is reasonable, so I am counting it as a fair. Mod can be found in the modhub and it is called "Tree Sapling Pack"
Planting Using An AI Assistance
After all the equipment is available, we go to any field, or just an area where we have a plowed section, stop the tractor at the end of the field line
and activate AI worker
And this is it, depends on the size of the field, sooner or a bit later we will have the saplings forest ready
Using Manual Operated Planter With A Guide
Yes, the word "guide" is used on purpose. If we operate the planter in manual mode we can also create a forest, but we need to guess all the time where we are with the next line, are we closer or a bit further. For this reason I am using an additional equipment
Yes, it is logical to ask "Why on earth you need a tedder, during a planting process" (actually the moment I uploaded the video in my channel with the video guide I was almost immediately asked this question). Answer is simple - it is cheapest, longest and lightest equipment. If it is not too heavy we don't need that much powerful tractor, which additionally reduce the economical impact
So, when we are ready, we are heading to any place we want to plant saplings
Upon arrival we need to decide what are going to be aligned to - might be a field, a road, another already planted area with trees in advanced growing phase, etc.
When reaching the endpoint, turn back the tractor and this time align to the saplings. Choose the correct viewpoint, because from the cabin you might experience some difficulties to judge precisely where is the end of the tedder
Using this technique will allows you to follow any route and all the time will have equal big enough distance between the lines
The Advantages
This way of planting is more time consuming, but anyhow AI worker cannot help on a non-plowed area.
The length of the tedder is 9 meters, which means from the center of the tractor which is equal with the center of the planter we have 4.5 meters. And this will be actually the distance between the lines of the saplings. This place is big enough to pass by with any machine and even to utilize this land for something more (I am usually just cutting the grass to make bales)

Yes, it is true that the amount of the trees per land unit is less, but this also has its reasons and benefits
First of all machines can approach only from one side were are the bigger gaps created by the tree planter
Second, very dense planted trees are creating problems during the wood harvest campaign - they easily get blocked into each other when fallen in inappropriate direction, check the example from one of my fields :
