The Intro
Sick of running the same boring Skill-Amp, AA or Crit builds? Don't want to spend the whole match searching
rubbish bins for components? Want THIS ?
Then I present to you: Mithril-Lin!
Why should I play Mithril-Lin?
You should play Mithril-Lin if
You like coming second
You dislike fighting other people
You want to kill all the bears
You gotta go fast
You shouldn't play Mithril-Lin if
You like winning
Why should I listen to you?
You probably shouldn't
The Skills
Passive
Her drunk-o-meter. Fill up over the marked line and your moves are better (You want this!), fill the bar up and you silence yourself and get a bonus to your auto attacks (You do not want this!)
Q
Dash forward and smack something, can be reactivated 2 times. Does a reasonable amount of damage if your drunk-o-meter is past the marked line. Can also be used for RUNNING AWAY (Only use it 2 times for running though, the 3rd use is normally slower than just running due to the slight pause Dailin makes after use)
W
Drink over 0.8 seconds. You fill up your drunk-o-meter whilst drinking as well as avoiding all auto attacks thrown at you. Do this constantly while running around, just don't max the bar. If you get stunned whilst in this animation you will not get the full increase to your drunk-o-meter.
E
Cone Silence. You would expect this to cancel any moves being cast by people you hit it with, it does not. Also has a SLIGHT slow effect on it, but you normally lose more distance due to it's cast time than your opponent does due to the slow.
R
Dash forward, stunning the first person (or chicken) hit whilst damaging them four times. Sounds great on paper, unfortunately if anyone nearby happens to sneeze in your general direction it gets cancelled and goes on full cooldown. Also tends to hit people standing too close behind you, making it rather hard to use to escape from someone meleeing you. It can, however, go through walls, so can be used to escape over them in a worst case scenario.
Leveling Order
Max Q first. That's all I've got.
The Build
This is what your final build should look like.
Bloodwing Knuckle Mithril HelmMithril ArmorAuto-armsMithrilBootsMagazine
Why are there pieces of non-mithril gear in this build? Because getting 3 pieces of Mithril is already hard enough, you're not going to find 4. The Auto-arms don't have the movespeed of the Mithril Arm piece, but it has slightly more Defence and Attack, and is made out of a Force Core
, which seem to drop from bears more often than Mithril . The Magazine is just a little bit of extra tankyness which can be made along the route you take for your weapon.
The Route
Area 1 - The Cemetery
So, you spawn at the Cemetery. Regardless of how many others are starting there. 7 other people? Well, that sucks. Spawn there anyway.
The most important items here are Knuckle,Iron Oreand Feather, in order to make the Wing Knuckle
You'll also want 2 Steel Chains and a Fabric Armor , however if you're down to the last item and can't find it don't waste another minute or two running around the area trying to find it, you can pick up a Fabric Armor in the Temple or Steel Chain at the Beach later if need be.
You should also pick up some Ice if you find any to make Ice Water , as although Dailin does not use SP on her abilities she goes through it EXTREMELY fast searching of components early on. Also pick up 2 Coffee if you find them, combining them with your Bread to make Buns , as well as any garlic you find to combine with Meat from wild animals to make Bacon and Garlic Sticks . Keep in mind all this food is extra stuff, you do NOT want to wasting time hanging around the Cemetery just looking for these.
Please, do not try to fight anyone here. Most people won't try to fight you this early, and you're probably going to lose if you try. Even if you win and kill someone, the XP and items you get from killing them will not make up for the time wasted fighting them.
This is hopefully how you should look by the end of this area.
Extra
You can also pick up a Mousetrap and grab a Nail in the Archery Range or Factory later, combining them into a Spiked Plank to use with any extra Force Cores you find to make Remote Mines. I would not recommend doing this until you're confident with everything else though.
Area 2 - The Hospital
Next is the Hospital. It there should be about 1:30 minutes left on the first day by this point. If there's more than that, good job, if there's less, it's not the end of the world. If you're on the first night already, you could be screwed.
You're looking for Tights here, which you can immediately combine to make Chain Leggings , as well 3 Hammers and some Scrap Metal , which you should immediately combine into Iron Sheets . Do not hang around trying to collect all 3 Hammers , as the next area also drops them.
You should also grab a Bandage , any Milk you can find and kill all the chickens up north if they're still alive. Grab any Leather that drops to make Leather Armor , Sheath and Bracer .
You should be looking something like this by this point.
Area 3 - The Pond
Now It's the Pond.
You're looking for a Box to combine into a Magazine, a Hat to combine into Chain Choif , Any Hammers you don't already have and 2 Gemstones , both of which you turn into Rubys .
Your first Ruby should be made into a Bloodwing Knuckle and your second a Sword of Shah Jahan . If you cannot find a second Gemstone feel free to give up on the Sword of Shah Jahan , as it's just a placeholder item anyway, better to spend your time hunting for Mithril
You can also grab any Flowers and Oriental Herbs you find to combine into Orchids , but whether you want to do this really depends on how full your inventory is at this point.
There are two Bears near the entrance of the pond, if there's no one around to ambush you it is worth killing them (one at a time). This can be rather dangerous and slow if you don't have your purple weapon yet, but still perfectly doable.
If you have found everything but the Gemstones , I suggest leaving the pond and heading up to the Temple instead, as it is less likely to be looted by others and also contains
more Bears to kill and Potato's to combine with any Butter you have (Made from combining your Milk with Branchs ) to make Butter Fried Potatos
You should now be looking something like this
The After-Route
Now you have all your component armor pieces, it is time to hunt for Mithril!
What you want to do is kill as many Bears and Wolves in as short a time as possible. Typically I will start by heading up to the Temple, killing the two bears there whilst heading towards the hyperloop. From there it really depends on the state of the map. Often I will go across to the Alley or Teleport to the Beach or the Dock, but it's really up to you. Just make sure to try and hit as many Bears and Wolves as you can along the way. Here's a handy map of their spawn locations.
If you run into Wicklene do not be afraid to fight her. Your hunt level should be maxed by the time she spawns, so you'll be doing a ton of extra damage to her.
You are mainly looking for Mithril and almost always the first piece of Mithril armor you want to make is going to be the Mithril Boots, as they give the most movement speed. But really, it depends on what other pieces of purple armor you currently have equipped, as you really want to fill up any non-purple slots as fast as possible. Be sure to also grab a Force Core if it drops and make Auto-Arms to replace your Sword of Shah Jahan . This can also be made by combining Meteorite and Powder of Life if they drop.
Bears also occasionally drop Heated Oil , which can be made into French Fries if you are near any Potatos , Fish Cutlets if you're near a fishing line to farm Cod or, if all else fails, Fried Chicken using Meat .
You also want to grab any Blue or Purple Chests you find. Purple chests for the chance of finding completed Mithril gear or Placeholders to equip whilst looking for Mithril gear, Blue chest for any food they give and the chance to find Mithril in them!
Try not to walk into any restricted areas unless it's the only way to save your life, you'll want that timer up at the full 30 seconds for the final zone.
Whether to fight others or not at this point is really up to you. You can beat some, not others, it really depends on how behind they/you are and is going to be a matter of experience for you to be able to recognise. You can just be a coward and run from everyone (this should be easy once you have your first Mithril item!), or you can press TAB and check how many purple items they have yet. Be aware that Extra Attack Damage ignores defence, so you probably don't want to fight anyone running that unless they are quite far behind.
Remember, this is what you're aiming for!
The Final Zone
So, you've made it to the final zone. Good job. But, what do you do now!? Well, there are several options
A) Give up
The only person left is a Hyun with 9 kills? Yeah, you're not beating that. Be happy with your second place and accept death gracefully. Or, alternatively, run around and draw the match out as long as you can. Anyone playing Hyun deserves all the pain you can give them.
B) The Hide-in-a-bush-and-hope-everything-works-out strat
3 other people left alive just as the final zone comes up? Hide in a bush until your timer goes down to 10 seconds then run in, maybe they'll have all killed each other off by this point! (It happens)
C) Ruuuuuun~
Certain final zones, Cemetery and Docks in particular, have obstacles that allow you to run around a juke others for the full 1:30 minutes, particularly when you've got so much move speed. Hopefully your timer is up at 30 seconds at this point, try not to run out of the area, or if you're in the Cemetery, run out for as little as possible. Quite often your opponent WILL be have less than 30 seconds, and when the zone closes you can run off and they'll explode before you!
D) Just go for it
If you opponent hasn't snowballed like crazy and you've got a decent amount of food on you there's a decent chance you actually can beat them in a 1v1, so just go for it. Worst case scenario is you coming second. Just try not to accidentally silence yourself...
