To make this easier to read, I regrouped the achievements by "categories". If you are looking for one in particular, you can use Ctrl+F to find it quickly.

I've also mentioned the possible cultural or gaming references related to some achievements.

Furthermore, here's an annotated map: feel free to use it to check the different places I'll mention throughout this guide.

Background Achievements

Are in this category all the achievements which will unlock during your adventure without you caring about it. Don't worry if you don't already have some of them, you will have them before you'll get all the other achievements.

First Blood

Kill one enemy.

Bloodlust

Kill 500 enemies.

Slayer

Kill 2.500 enemies.

Terminator

Kill 10.000 enemies.

Reference: The movie saga starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Constructor

Build 30 towers.

Engineer

Build 100 towers.

The Architect

Build 150 towers.

Daring

Call 10 waves early.

Fearless

Call all waves early in a single mission.

Reference: Internet meme "Deal with it".

Impatient

Call a wave within 3 seconds of the icon showing up.

What's that?

Open 5 information cards

Armageddon

Use Rain of Fire 5 times in a single stage

Reference : Biblical or cinematrographic, your call.

Death from above

Kill 100 enemies with meteor showers.

Reference: Could be the rock group.

Champion of Linirea

Train a hero up to level 5.

Reference: Linirea is the capital city of Kingdom Rush's world.

Legend of Linirea

Train a hero up to max level (level 10).

G.I. Joe

Train 1.000 soldiers.

Hint: Using a reasonable amount of Barracks, it will come fast, no need to farm it.

Reference: The very popular action figures which helmet you can recognise here.

Cannon Fodder

Send 1.000 soldiers to their deaths.

Hint: Same thing that the last one.

Die Hard

Have your soldiers regenerate a total of 50.000 life.

Reference: The famous saga with Bruce Willis as John McClane (whom you can recognise on the picture).

Progression Related Achievements

Achievements linked with your progression, you'll unlock all of them by finishing all the levels in the game.

Watch out though, you'll have to finish the campaign (the first 12 missions) with the difficulty Normal minimum (cf. the Hint of the achievement Great Defender)

Starry

Earn 15 stars.

Super Mario

Earn 30 stars.

Reference: I don't think I need to introduce him.

Superstar

Earn 45 stars.

Nuts and Bolts

Defeat The Juggernaut

Hint: Finish the mission "The Citadel".

Is he dead yeti?

Defeat J.T.

Hint: Finish the mission "Stormcloud Temple"

This is the end

Defeat Vez'nan.

Hint: Finish the mission "The Dark Tower"

Arachnophobia

Defeat Sarelgaz and its minions.

Hint: Finish the mission "Sarelgaz's Lair"

Orcs must die

Defeat Gul'Thak and its minions.

Hint: Finish the mission "Ruins of Acaroth"

Reference: "Orcs must die" is an other Tower Defense.

I'am the law

Do not let The Kingpin escape.

Hint: Finish the mission "Bandit's Lair"

Reference: Possibly Judge Dredd with Sylvester Stallone.

Lumberjack

Defeat Greenmuck and its minions.

Hint: Finish the mission "Rotten Fores".

Don't feed the troll

Defeat Ulguk-Hai the Troll Warlord.

Hint: Finish the mission "Ha'kraj Plateau".

Super Mushroom

Defeat Myconid, the Rotten Fungus.

Hint: Finish the mission "Fungal Forest"

Reference: Once again Mario Bros.

Game of Crowns

Defeat Lord Blackburn to avoid war between kingdoms.

Hint: Finish the mission "Castle Blackburn"

Reference: Pun with "Game of Thrones" by George R. R. Martin, adapted by HBO.

Hell-o!

Defeat Moloch the Demon Overlord.

Hint: Finish the mission "Pandaemonium"

Reference: Punny.

Great Defender

Complete the campaign.

Hint: For this one, I recommend this guide and this website : http://www.kingdomrush.com/strategy.html http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216031871

Watch out, you'll need to complete every mission until "The Dark Tower" with the difficulty Normal at least. You will not unlock it if you've played one of them in Casual, and there is no way in the game to know which one exactly.

If you don't know which mission you've missed, you should do the game backwards, as it most likely that you've changed the difficulty near the end of the game.

Iron Defender

Complete all iron stages (from the campaign).

Hint: See above.

Watch out, here again you'll need to complete the missions in Normal at least.

Heroic Defender

Complete all heroic stages (from the campaign).

Hint: See above.

Watch out, here again you'll need to complete the missions in Normal at least.

Supreme Defender

Complete the campaign in Veteran mode.

Hint: Veteran mode is the hardest difficulty. All missions from the campaign must be completed with this difficulty in order to unlock this.

Specific Levels Related Achievements

Surroundings related

Twin Rivers Angler

Catch a fish.

Hint: In "Twin Rivers", you'll see fishes randomly jumping out the water.

Click on one of them to unlock this (like real life angling, it might take a few tries).

Like a Henderson

Free the sasquatch on the Icewind Pass.

Hint: In this misson, launch your Rain of Fire on him. You'll then be able to recruit him for 400 golds.

Reference: The movie "Harry and the Hendersons".

Plants vs Trolls

Find the 5 legendary lost ice-shrooms.

Hint: In "Ha'Kraj Plateau", click on the shrooms.

Reference: The game "Plants vs. Zombies", an other Tower Defense.

Free Fredo

Help Fredo escape.

Hint: In "Sarelgaz's Lair", click eight times on the character to free him.

Reference: Frodo Baggins from The Lord of the Rings.

Cowabunga

Find the ninja master rat.

Hint: In "Rotwick", click eight times on the manhole.

Reference: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which love for pizzas is a known fact and whose master is Splinter, a rat.

Nevermore

Capture the attention of the mysterious crow.

Hint: In "Ancient Necropolis", unlocked after "Rotwick", click on the crow.

Reference: The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. "Nevermore" is what the crow says repetitivly.

Nessie

Discover the hidden monster under water.

Hint: In "Nightfang Swale", unlocked after "Ancient Necropolis", click on the bubbles.

Reference: The Loch Ness Monster.

Scrat's Meal

Find the elusive acorn.

Hint: In "Glacial Heights", click eight times on the acorn in the ice to free it.

Reference: Scrat, from Ice Age.

Gameplay related

Imperial Saviour

Have at least 3 Imperial Guards survive in the Citadel.

Hint: Just have the three guards in front of the entrance survive.

Forest Diplomacy

Recruit max elves (4) at The Silveroak Outpost.

Hint: Costs 400 golds, achievable before calling the first wave.

Still counts as one

Have your Elves deal 10000 points of damage.

Hint: Achievable in the same mission, you'll just have to let your Elves do most of the work. Exemple of effective layout for this purpose.

Moreover, it appears for some that only melee damages are accounted for. Thus do not put a barrack before you elfes in an attempt to protect them and do something like on the picture.

Prefer doing the mission in Iron to have more huts and not having to do too much restarts.

Reference : A line said by Gimli in The Lord of the Rings.

SUNBURNER!

Fire the Sunray 20 times.

Hint: The Sunray Tower is the special tower only available at the Stormcloud Temple.

We dine in hell!

Have your soldiers survive the explosion of 300 demons.

Hint: In "Dark Tower", this demons are summoned by the inscriptions on the ground and they will explose upon death. Make them die next to a soldier to increase the counter by one. I achieved this without caring about it so it's should be the same for you.

Reference : A line from 300 by Zack Snyder.

Coolrunning

Defeat 10 Troll Pathfinders while they're treading on ice.

Hint: Achievable in "Glacial Heights" or "Ha'Kraj Plateau". Watch out, you can't block the ennemis when they are treading.

Reference: A reference to the movie Cool Runnings.

Army of One

Defeat 9 legions before they replicate.

Hint : Achievable in "Pit of Fire" or "Pandaemonium ". You'll have to kill them as soon as possible.

Ratatouille

Kill 15 Wererats before they sicken any soldier.

Hint: Achievable in the missions from "The Curse of Castle Blackburn". Simply kill them before they approach one of your soldiers.

Reference: The movie by Pixar.

Spore

Kill 25 Shrooms without them poisoning your soldiers.

Hint: Achievable in "Fungal Forest", same thing that with the rats above with the Rotshrooms.

Reference: The game of the same name, which have the same logo that the picture of the achievement.

Towers Related Achievements

Achievements necessiting particular actions with your towers.

If the hint doesn't give any tactical advice, there is no one and you'll just have to use regularly the specialization to unlock it.

Indecisive

Sell 5 towers in a single mission.

Hint: Wait for the end of the mission and the last wave to sell any useless tower (be fast).

Real Estate

Sell 30 towers.

Hint: Same thing that the last one.

Home Improvement

Upgrade all basic tower types to level 3.

Hint: Achievable starting from the mission "Twin Rivers".

Reference: An American sitcom.

Specialist

Build all 8 towers specializations.

Hint: Achievable starting from the mission "The Wastes".

Tactician

Change soldiers' rally point 200 times.

Hint: Click on the blue flag.

Holy Chorus

Have your Paladins perform 100 Holy Strikes.

Hint: Improve your Knights Barracks in Holy Order then invest in the bonus "Holy Strikes".

Medic!

Have your Paladins heal a total of 7.000 life.

Hint: Improve your Knights Barracks in Holy Order then invest in the bonus "Healing Light".

Reference: A line used in Team Fortress 2.

Are you not entertained?

Have a single barbarian kill 10 enemies.

Hint: In "Icewind Pass", the first waves will be spiders, easy kills for your barbarians.

Reference: A line from Gladiator by Ridley Scott with Russell Crowe.

Axe rain!

Throw 500 or more axes.

Hint: Improve your Knights Barracks in Barbarian Hall then invest in the bonus "Throwing Axes".

Entangled

Hold 500 or more enemies with Wrath of the Forest.

Hint: Improve your Sharpshooter Tower in Rangers Hideout then invest in the bonus "Wrath of the Forest".

Toxicity

Kill 50 enemies by poison damage.

Hint : Improve your Sharpshooter Tower in Rangers Hideout then invest in the bonus "Poison Arrows".

Watch out, you'll have to give the lethal blow with the poison, not just poison the enemy.

50 shots, 50 kills

Snipe 50 enemies.

Hint: Improve your Sharpshooter Tower in Musketeer then invest in the bonus "Sniper Shot". When a shot count for this achievement, you'll see a "Headshot" on the enemy.

Dust to Dust!

Disintegrate 50 or more enemies.

Hint: Improve your Wizard Tower in Arcane Wizard then invest in the bonus "Death Ray".

Beam me up, Scotty

Teleport 250 or more enemies.

Hint: Improve your Wizard Tower in Arcane Wizard then invest in the bonus "Teleport".

Reference: A famous line from Star Trek.

Shepherd

Polymorph 50 enemies into sheep.

Hint: Improve your Wizard Tower in Sorcerer Mage then invest in the bonus "Polymorph".

AC/DC

Kill 300 enemies with electricity.

Hint: Improve your Dwarven Howitzer in Tesla x104.

Reference: The rock group with the same name.

Trivia : AC/DC means Alternating Current and Direct Current, it's said that the name have been chosen by looking at an electrical outlet.

The achievement's picture is the group's logo.

Clustered

Drop 1.000 or more bomblets with the cluster bomb.

Hint: Improve your Dwarven Howitzer in 500mm Big Bertha then invest in the bonus "Cluster Launcher".

Rocketeer

Shoot 100 missiles.

Hint: Improve your Dwarven Howitzer in 500mm Big Bertha then invest in the bonus "Dragonbreath Launcher".

Energy Network

Build 4 Tesla towers in any stage.

Hint: To have these towers, you'll have to improve your Dwarven Howitzer in Tesla X104. Quite expensive to do it from scratch, try doing it in a mission where you already have a lot of artillery.

It will cost you 935 to 1040 golds each tower if you do one from scratch, having the upgrades or not, which makes 3740 to 4160 golds for the achievement.

Elementalist

Summon 5 rock elementals in any one stage.

Hint: To summon an Elemental, you'll have to improve your Wizard Tower in Sorcerer Mage then invest in the bonus "Summon Elemental".

For the rest, it's the same as above, except it's more expensive.

Watch out, you'll need a tower for each elemental, so five towers. Indeed, when they die, they aren't "re-summoned" but they reform, so you will not unlock this with the same elemental dying five times for example.

It will cost you 1070 to 1150 golds each elemental, so 5350 to 5750 golds for the achievement.

For the record, I've done it on "Ancien Necropolis", but you can do it on any long mission, preferably the Elite missions.

Miscellaneous

Last but not least. :)

Ovinophobia

Kill 10 or more sheep with your hands.

Hint: You will find them everywhere in the surroundings in a lot of missions. Click eight times on the poor beast to progress toward your macabre goal.

Reference: Ovinophobia is the fear of sheeps.
