Guide Introduction
This guide is intended for new, returning, or lost players.
You COULD look up an interactive map of the whole game online, but wheres the fun in that? In this guide you'll learn how to navigate the world on a surface-level by reading map art.
1. Welcome To The Lands Between
Character created, intro finished, tutorial completed- and BAM. A breathtaking view of Limgrave, the first of many regions. Stormveil Castle on your left, a glistening Erdtree on the right, and so many places to explore in The Lands Between.
2. A Foggy Map
Entering a new region presents a map with very little info.
Sites of Grace point towards the Main Quest
Scattered roads lead you towards Map Fragments and sometimes Golden Seeds.
You're bound to find new and interesting places following either one.
3. Expanding The Map
To expand your map, follow roads to find Map Fragments. They'll show you a detailed drawing of the surrounding regions.
4. Reading A Detailed Map
Congratz! You've obtained a Map Fragment. While it might not show everything, it still displays a number of places of interest if you look close enough. See somewhere that piques your curiosity? Feel free to mark it and follow the waypoint!

Birdseye Telescopes help you scope out the region in detail.

Mineshafts are chock-full of smithing stones to upgrade weapons.

Churches could house flask upgrades, NPCs, & more.
======================================================================
Ruins hide a variety of enemies and loot.
======================================================================
Gaols are arenas with an optional boss to challenge.

Castles are massive sprawling dungeons filled with dangerous enemies and awesome loot at every corner.
Stormveil Castle here is home to a demigod, defeat them on your quest to obtain the Great Runes.

5. A Few More Tips
This section hints at a few places to go if you have something in mind.

Roads will always lead to new major areas. Try following them for a change of scenery.

Getting destroyed by a boss like the Tree Sentinel? Try exploring elsewhere and returning stronger!
