Character Cosplay - Guts/berserk Gear

Primary Weapon - Sword

For the Dragon Slayer there are two choices;

The first being the classic Greatsword. enough said. (though the Ash of War: Savage Lion's Claw give the sword a move right out of the anime).

But with the DLC, I recently found this lighter alternative. The Greatsword of Solitude.

I prefer this one, partially due to it being lighter, but the Weapon skill is good for a distance attack and for closing the distance with the heavy follow up.

On a aesthetic and theme note, the colour is closer to that of Guts legendary weapon, and the name just suits, as Guts has often been alone.

Secondary Weapons - 1

Another blessing from the DLC, the Smithscript Dagger. Whilst you could just use bone darts or throwing daggers, they are limited by how much material you are willing to collect to make them, and if your buying them it'll get expensive.

It is not a universal range weapon, as the projectiles vanish after a small distance, so for range, a dedicated range weapons would be preferred.

As a speedy alternative for when the enemy keeps dodging your swords swings, with the proper stats, these can help kill those annoying flyers and hoppers or finish off those enemies that survived your first sword slash but are out of range of your follow up.

This can be equipped as either a left or right handed weapon, (though that would mean putting your greatsword away). This will depend on if your managing your characters weights and how much gear you're willing to equip and carry at once.

Secondary Weapons - 2

For your dedicated range weapon we come to your crossbow (though sadly they aren't built into your characters arm) As we know Guts is also proficient with crossbows, For this I chose two different preferrences, to be either equipped at the same time for speedy switching or just the one based on your preference;

The Pulley

The Repeating

The reason being is that both have automatic fire mode similar to Guts' own arm bow. The application of them to me seems that, the Pulley allow small controlled bursts and better control of ammo use. The Repeating will allow you to make pin cushions of bigger targets with it's weapon skill but also is a single shot for if you just want to get a singe enemies attention at a time.

Weapons Left Hand - 3

As mentioned, you character won't be missing a limb, so no prosthetic for you to hide a weapon in. None the less no Guts should be without their cannon.

Whilst its actually a Heavy Ballistas, we all can agree, those things are cannons (it's even in the name).

In the base you have the Jar Cannon.

In the DLC, for more magic damage focused, there's Rabbath's Cannon.

It isn't quick or mobile, but a cannon is a cannon.

The Armour

Now for the most crucial part, your armour.

After scouring the game for gear, and using may sets;

The Raging Wolf

Blaidd's set

The Night's Cavalry

I accepted that I wouldn't get my one to one (I used all the sets with the Black Hood As i haven't gotten around to changing their face). I still don't have that one set that's close enough to the Iconic Berserker Armour for me, but I have one that's close enough.

The Armour of Solitude.

I like this set; it got decent defence, a nice cape, and with its design it give the set a conventional yet otherworldly aesthetic similar to Guts own. On top of that, it is called solitude. Again, poor old Guts is known for being a loner.

It is, in my opinion as close as we can get with what is within the game without modds. The set is DLC exclusive, but I'm sure that won't be a problem as many have probably already bought it, if the news on steam is to be believed.

Conclusion

Whelp that all I have...

As an aside, there are plenty of pots that could substitute for some hand bombs, but like me you probably would forget about them unless you were needing them for a specific bosses weakness.

Hopefully this will allow those of you who wanna role play can have some P v E fun,

or maybe it'll be the starting point for your own builds. None the less hope you enjoy, and have fun out there.
