10 Tipps to be better in PES eFootball 2020

Cameras

1. Cameras

The camera angles in eFootball PES 2020 are offering a wide view of the pitch, IMHO "Stadium" is worth taking a look at. It allows you to read plays and attacks and gives you more space for creativity.

If you are not using the radar or you don't know where your players are and whats your opponents plan, stadium is a very good solution. But it is a different feeling and playing, special near the boxes.

Form And Stamina

2.Form and stamina

Form and stamina have a drastic effect on player performance. Thats what you should think about!

So donot sprint all the time, a thing that new players usualy do.

Stamina is so important, that the setting "gamble" applied to the striker allready helps a lot, that he has good stamina until the end.

If you think your oppenents players are tired at the end, go on with gegenpressing.

Defense

3. Defensive positioning

Players are blocking shots very well. So if you want to deffent good, the easiest way is remain patient! Defensive positioning is more important than ever, be patient instant of pressing all the time with your player or/and AI will prevent plenty of goals.

If your opponent is pressing all the time, do not pass the ball short. Try long and high passes to your gambling striker, go right over the midfiled with the ball. And sometimes kick the ball out of the stadium. Way better as lose the ball near to your box.

Use manual Control to block Players trying to reach a ball is a great Idea for slower but strong defenders.

Build-up

4. Patient build-up

Spend much of your time in patient build-ups. This means pass backwards when needed, or spreading the ball wide. Rushing or Counter Attacks are not the best plan for 90 minutes +. Most people struggle with defending, waiting for counter attacks means beeing under preasure all the time.

See it before you do it!

Passing

5. Avoid unrealistic passes

It sounds obvious, but getting used to this can take time! Even important: calculate each pass. How hard and far is more important than you may think. The same counts for shooting by the way.

As long as you are not Arjen Robben, your controller has passing buttons. Use them. All of them. Dont play risky passes all the time, try read what your opponent does, when you pass the ball. Is he attacking, with one or two players? Or is he pretending to attack and switch the players to get the pass. Maybe he is just doing the same thing all the time?

And if you are Arjen Robben (lol) remember that you was dribbling slowly through the defense. The ball sticking on your feet was, why nobody could stop you. In other words, avoid sprinting all the time!

Offense

6. Variations in goal attemps

Do not just take the shot, shoot harder or with more precesion. Try a lop or a manual shot. That is a tougher challenge for goalies than just shooting left or right. Also, do not try the same trick all the time. One trick ponys are asier for oppenents to stop. The more you can do, the harder it is to beat you.

If you think the goalie of your competitor is unbeatable and yours is catching flies and not balls, you are trying the same thing all the time and he tries lots of variations, that is the main reason for it.

Trained finesse dribbling can make you win a one on one (I came back to it later) - specially on the wings or when you try to enter the box.

And do not pick up every pass and turn directly to the goal, sometimes it is a good idea to let the ball pass and go behind it, you will automaticly face the goal and make defenders look bad. So what is the point here? You have to know how you can make a ball pass you and how to stop it. It feels like a lot of players dont know that it happens, when you just hit R2. I bet they want to ran immediatly and cry out loud because the ball is going through the players feet.

Tactics And Instructiong

7. Advanced Instructions

Advanced Instructions can be given in the Game Plan screen, allowing you to assign various tactics to your squad. Use it and stick to the plan.

If you play Tiki-Taka you should pass and not dribble the ball. And as you can think, it is cool if your Trainer supports this tactik. Tiki-Taka with a counter-attack Trainer doesn't make a lot of sense.

If you think your opponent is pushing your defense line to deep, dont play more offensive. Get the ball in the defense and play an accurate long pass to a gambling striker and your oppenent will stop to be that aggresive. And try to use offside couple of times.

If you play with offensive wingers - and most players do that - get at least one midfielder back to defense. Playing with two defenders only is weird when your opponent has three strikers.

Know Your Players

8. Play what your sqad can play

What it means is - Vidal is not Messi and Lewandowski is not Neymar. Do what your sqad can do, good to know the players you use!

Finesse Dribble

9. Work on Finesse Dribble

Finesse Dribble can be activated with the right stick, easy! But way harder to get a perfected timing when you are facing an opponent one on one. Get used to it. Also use manual passing or shooting in some cases. You can easy use it with L2/LT. Some PES veterans may play using manual controls always, but I bet not all of you guys.

Canceling

10. Learn how to Cancel

Pressing R1/RB and R2/RT to make your players instantly cancel the actions they were doing is so important. Not a lot of gamers are using it.
