Making the Game and DLC Work

TLDR

Make sure the game is not running in admin mode both Darksiders3.exe and Darksiders3-Win64-Shipping.exe

Close Discord before launching the game or Delete the Discord Plugin from game files.

Problems

There are a number of problems I faced when trying to initially play this game such as:

1] Game crashing on startup

2] Game not launching from steam

3] Game crashing on main menu

4] DLC not working

Prerequisites

To start if you haven't already Verify your game files and make sure your DLC is installed (If you own any).

To do this:

1] Right Click on the game and click on properties

2] Click on Installed Files and then on Verify integrity of game files

3] Make sure your DLC is Installed (interesting note, the DLC in this game does not have any extra files its already part of the game, but they still need to be enabled)

Now that all the files are in order ensure that Darksiders3.exe is Not running in Administrator Mode.

Also make sure that Darksiders3-Win64-Shipping is also Not running in Administrator Mode.

To do this:

1] Go to the game folder, you can find this by right clicking on the game in steam, clicking on Properties and then clicking on Browse under the Installed Files section.

2] Right Click on Darksiders3.exe and then click properties.

3] In Properties go to the Compatibility tab and ensure "Run this program as and Administrator" is not checked.

4] Repeat this for "Darksiders3-Win64-Shipping" this can be found in:

Steam/steamapps/common/Darksiders 3/Darksiders3/Binaries/ Win64

Finally the last thing that will be causing you issues is Discord, so you can either just Exit Discord anytime you want to play the game or delete the Discord Plugin from the game files for a more permanent fix.

To Delete the Plugin. Go to this directory:

Steam/steamapps/common/Darksiders 3/Darksiders3/Plugins

Select the folder Discord and Delete it.

The Game should Launch from steam without any issues and the DLC should now be working
