Distance To Chests
Core Keeper allows crafting stations [core-keeper.fandom.com] to use materials from chests within 10 blocks with the 10th block also being acceptable.
Therefore, all of the wooden workbenches in the following image can be used to craft items from the Glurch Chest in the center:
Note: The game's lack of a "zoom out" feature makes this difficult to display, but the workbench layout on the top and bottom look exactly the same as the sides do now.
Example Early Layout
The following layout is an early-ish example layout for how crafting stations could be organized.
All crafting stations can fit inside the required 10-block radius. Even a Cartography Table can be placed (shown bottom center) without difficulty. Advanced crafting stations will have space or can replace existing earlier stations.
Stations that spend time working (smelter, cooking pot, etc) are doubled up to allow for more refined materials at a faster pace.
The copper workbenches along the top of the image show the radius needed for the bottom-center Glurch Chest.
Stations are placed one block inward from the workbench border to allow for additional chests in the center. They are also spaced apart to allow walking movement in all directions.
Two large chests will likely be all that is needed for all raw and refined materials for an entire playthrough, but additional chests on the sides are added just in case.
All other items - weapons, armor, decorations, etc - are not needed in this area and can be placed elsewhere if desired. However, there is plenty of room for a solo playthrough...
