Coral Island Coral Island: Fossil Guide

Introduction

This guide is designed to help the farmers of Coral Island collect all of the fossils currently found in-game to get the "Paleontologist," "Part-Time Curator," and "Legendary Farmer" achievements. I have organized them in the order that they appear in the journal to aid those who may only be missing a few from their collection. I have included photos of the fossils, the fossil nodes they can be found in, drop percentages, enchanting value, and selling prices.

All fossils in Coral Island are found inside of fossil nodes by processing them at the Laboratory once you have unlocked the Soft Bristle Brush.

The different types of fossil nodes are found by tilling sand or soil with the hoe, clearing trash with the scythe while diving, or breaking rocks/sandstone in different locations with the pickaxe. I strongly recommend upgrading your hoe, scythe, and pickaxe and enchanting them with Rare Drop to make these fossil nodes easier to collect and more likely to drop.

I found it the easiest to collect the nodes by using an upgraded/enchanted pickaxe in the caverns, and using an upgraded/enchanted scythe to clear out trash in the underwater caves while diving.

Please Note: While the fossil nodes in the game are all named as simply "Fossil Node," they are identified in the data as different types of nodes. The easiest way to tell them apart is to compare the in-game photos with the photos and names I have included below.

My biggest tip if you are searching for only a few specific fossils is to collect a ton of the fossil nodes that drop the fossil(s) you need, and process them all at the lab at the same time as soon as you can at the beginning of the day. If you do not get an fossil you need, simply reload the game and process them again. Repeat until you get something you DO need.

Please note that the Black Market may also randomly sell the fossil nodes or fossils you need.
