The Cheat

Me and a group of friends have found a way to work around Clicker Heroes, and cheat it without any outside clients, or other shenaniguns. This cheat can speed up your game hours, days, weeks, months, years, EVEN DECADES! Before you go to the comments and rant on about how this already existed, I KNOW IT DOES, I just happened to find it on my own, and want to let the people who don't know try it! I didn't see any other guides at the time, so I made this. Have caution, because sometimes these effects in the game are hard or even impossible to reverse, but your computer will be fine. First, a little about the codeing of Clicker Heroes. The way it calculates the time you have been gone is a combination of steam cloud, the internet, and the current time of your computer. If you dissable the first two, it relies on your clock. Therefore, once you change the clock, you change the time. This works pretty much the same on all platforms, but I will include instructions for Mac and Windows users (sorry Linux!). If you want to read about how to do this in detail, click "The Cheat in Words". If you are lazy (like me), want to look at pictures, and own a windows, click "The Cheat in Pictures: Windows". If you are lazy, want to look at pictures, and own a mac, click "The Cheat in Pictures: Mac". If you have a Linux figure it out. Have fun!

The Cheat In Words

Step 1: First shut down steam. In order to completely shut it down you have to right click and click "Exit Now"

Step 2: Turn off the internet, and yes, you can survive.

Step 3: Go into the date and time preferences through the clock in the lower left, or the control panel (System Preferences for Mac users).

Step 4: Go to change date and time.

Step 5: Set the date and time to a different time, however much in the future you want your game to be. Click "Internet Time" (third tab) and set it to not sync the time. For Mac users, just uncheck the "Set Date and Time Automatically" box

Step 6: Start Steam. If it asks for the password, enter it, and it will ask if you want to start in offline mode. If not, it will immediately ask to start in offline mode. Start the game in offline mode.

Step 7: Start Clicker Heroes. It may take a while to load your earned $$$, a few seconds or minutes, but that is ok. It is computing how much gold you need to earn. Enjoy the LOOT!

Reverse The Cheat

This doesn't always work, so sorry if it doesn't. If you did this cheat without wanting to (i warned you!), there is only one way to reverse it, but it has to be an immediate effect. Once you start the game YOU CAN NOT SHUT IT DOWN! If you do it will save to the computer and stay that way. You must go into Activity Monitor (Mac), or Task Manager (Windows) and manually quit steam NOT CLICKER HEROES! Manually quit Steam first. Let it shut down, then manually shut down Clicker Heroes. Turn your internet back on and click the "Set Date & Time automatically" button to reset your clock. Start steam and let it run in ONLINE MODE! When it asks to load a previous version of Steam Cloud, us the one load BEFORE you used the cheat. This could be anywhere from 1-20 minutes before. Sometimes if you just quit the game before it can save to steam cloud, and then start it again after a restart of your computer, it won't save.
