Guide's Intro

This game is a flashback to 80's and 90's.

Like you, when i played i was immediately caught by this crazy atmosphere. So I’m trying to bring it to this guide and helping young players or others who DARES to don't know some of the characters of the game!

I've started this guide on the 9th April but there were too much mistakes and i had to change the visibility to correct it the 10th April.

I'm writing as the actual General of the Broforce: Nelson Brodela. His name or face may change in the future because there are still artworks on game characters.

Beware ! Some infos about enemies might spoil the pleasure to find by yourself how to kill them.

The Assault Course [Controls/Levels In Progress]

General Brodela's infos :

"At attention ! I'm the General and you will call me sir.

Understood? All right then!

So now you are part of the Broforce. Cauz my superiors though you had the balls to be part of our squad. The Broforce is a special elite squad created to fight the evil anywhere on the globe and saves the Bros at the hands of the dam enemy!

Now we will see how to fight on the battle field and listen carefully cauz it may save your miserable lives!»

In order of appearance in the video:

Jumping, Moving forward/backward , Running (double tap direction button) forward/ backward, Checkpoint activation, Climbing with knife, Slow Motion (Press F1), Tactical Backflip (press jump+ direction of the edge of the surface), Respawn point activation, Shooting, Zip line, Pushing gas tanks and barrels (use running movement in front of the object to push it), Liberating Villagers (use melee button to enlist them: they will grab a weapon and follow you to attack Mooks), Liberating bro (you will swap your character to another one and grant you an other life), Killing pure Evil (by doing this you will finish the level).

Intel About The Enemy [The Foes And The Bosses]

General Brodela'infos:

"There is the worst part of your trainin' soldiers ! I will show you the face of the biggest threat the world as never seen before: The Mooks! We don't know where they come from. We don't know who they are. But we are sure of one thing: we will negotiate our freedom by shooting first !"

The basic Mook:

"This cannon fodder knows how to use a AK47. If this scum spots you, he will try to shoot you from a distance. He has a very low rate of fire but they are dangerous in number."

Suicide Mook:

"With a belt of dynamite this Mook, if you've been spotted, will chase you until he explode like a kamikaze. Blast them as soon as you can but be careful... they will explode after death. So keep your distance!"

Riot Shield Mook:

"Dam cowards! Theses maggots hides behind a riot shield. They don't have any guns. In general they stay in front line to protect the Mooks behind them. The quickest way to bring them down is a good slash of machete in the face. That's what they deserve!"

Heavy Weapon Mook:

"At least they have something which looks like a murderer! This big pile of sh... fed with proteins will use its minigun on everything that looks like a Bro. Very strong, he needs some set up time every time he shoots. Wait for the moment he reloads and feed him with lead!"

Mook spotter:

"This dude will focus his binoculars on you and run back to call his friends for help. You may even receive more accurate artillery strikes by its fault."

Mook's attack dog:

"Theses disgusting beasts are weak. Dogs can't resist very long in front of a wall of bullets...

But they are Mooks. And if they find some dead meat to eat, in a matter of seconds they will grow bigger, stronger and quicker. They are very dangerous in groups and of course near dead Mooks or Bros."

Mook's Terror armor:

"Take a big dumb dude, put him in a can of steel and give him two big miniguns. You got the idea? This thing is a real pain in the ass ! To kill him: make him fall or use explosives to cook the guy inside. Emptied, you can use the armor to spread democracy !".

Mook's Grenadier:

"Impossible to miss him cauz he is the only one with a back pack. Throws grenades, even when he dies. Use this to make a chain reaction".

Pure Evil:

"A red demon in a business suit... what the hell ?! This creature commands every Mooks operations. If you find one, get rid of him. It will be a terrible blow to Mook's army. They are unarmed, so make them feel the cold of your blade to stop their damm laughs!".

Mook's assault chopper:

"Slow but uses a heavy minigun with a good range. Need some time to set up like the bombs it can deliver on your face. So get the fu... out of here and take it down from far. Be carefull, somes mooks will be airdroped during the engagement".

The Enforcer:

"One of the elite soldiers of the Mook's army. He wears a composite armor which makes him resilient to firearms and explosions. But he can be stunned with enought bullets in the belly, giving you some time to counter attack. The only way to kill him is to make him fall. By the way, he uses a rocket launcher, throws grenades and even calls some times artillery strikes...".

Rambro

First character: you start the game with him.

Basic attack: uses the automatic M60 machine gun.

Special attack:uses frag grenades which blows blocks and mooks, 5 ammunitions.

"Remember this face kids. You were still shi...in' in diapers this guy was killin' dozens of communists in Afghanistan! He’s a veteran of Vietnam and we can't count the number of guys he sends back to their homelands... in BODYBAGS!

As general Patton said: "Patriotism is not dying for your country but make the bast... of the other camp dying for his!”. And John Rambro is a damm patriot!"

Notes:

[The game shows Rambo in the second film (Rambo: First Blood Part II, 1985 directed by George P. Cosmatos). Where Sylvester Stallone became the character we know today. The first Rambo was quite deep in its view of war and its traumas. Rambo II, not as deeper as the first one, is really funny to see like the third. But the fourth is a scam. Rambo is known for its delicious actions scenes and his unforgettable phrases. My favorite is the last one of Rambo 2].

Brommando

Second character: 1 rescue to unlock.

Basic attack: the 4 barreled rocket launcher M202A1 FLASH, which blows blocks and mooks per shots.

Special attack: Fires 5 consecutive rockets in front of him. 3 ammunitions.

Melee: Knife

General Brodela's info:

"Brommando is a veteran retired from service who tried to start a new life with its family. But one day some terrorists took his daughter and killed his friends... it was the last mistake they've made! By himself he razed a whole island, used all the tools of a potting shed on enemy foes and impaled the maggot that kidnaped his daughter".

Notes:

[This character is from one of my favorite movie of Arnold Schwarzenegger: Commando (1985). In this film John Matrix (Arnold) drops some wonderful phrases and plays epics scenes like when he lifts a phone box or when he kills soldiers with gardening tools. His rocket launcher was specially created for the film. A mixt between an incendiary launcher and a stinger missile battery. Commando is lesser known than Terminator or Total Recall but it's a classic of action movies].

B.A Broracus

Third character: 2 recues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses a LPO-50 flamethrower.

Special attack:throws incendiary grenades. 3 ammunitions.

"If brain is supposed to be a muscle... so this guy has 2 big brains !

Before joining Broforce he was part of a-team working on its own: the A-team.

4 veterans of Vietnam working to save some civilians and clean ♥♥♥♥ the government didn't want to do. This guy loved to crush his enemies under his arms. The team gave him the name of Barracus. The kind of big fish that you regret to cross the way and be still alive after...

But time as passed and unemployed, he drowns his despair in vulgar jewels and videogames advertising... until we called him".

Notes:

[Everybody knows the action tv serie: the A-team. Broadcasted from 1983 to 1987 in U.S. There were four characters: John "Hannibal" Smith acted by George Peppard, Templeton Peck "Faceman" by Dirk Benedict, "Howling Mad" Murdock by Dwight Schultz, Brosco Albert/ B.A "Baracus" by Mr. T. The serie became famous due to the members of the team with their own talents and personality. And because all tv series in eighties were focused on one character like Magnum. The story was new too. Like Rambo, it dealt with the reject of Vietnam veterans. Funny with an unforgettable theme...].

Fourth character: 5 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses a Remington1100Tactical which scatters in 5 shots each rounds.

Special attack: Throw a grenade which calls 5 artillery strikes. 3 ammunitions.

"Since he was a kid, Walker wanted to be at the service of the community. So one day he became a modern times cowboy: A Texas Ranger. With the help of his loyal partner Jimmy Trivette, they kicked the asses of the worst criminals. For few years the life of Walker was quiet. Nuclear bomb defusing, hostage rescue, ect... But with the rarity of thugs, things started to became really calm. Too calm ...

Walker was getting so bored that he made a terrible mistake!

I know... it's a vision of horror.

Except the fact his tastes were outdated, he realized that he was too good for his job. And then he asked the government for retirement. But in theses times of troubles we asked him to help us in our glorious fight. Now Walker do what he was made for: spreading Merican's values with heavy weapons and a bunch of badasses like him!"

Notes:

[This serie was broadcasted from 1993 to 2001 in U.S. Walker was acted by Chuck Norris. Like it or not, Walker Texas Ranger was famous for its moral values. Except some gun fights, Walker used martial arts to restore peace and even teach to some characters good values. Walker Texas Ranger is still very popular. This show didn't receive the same reviews in other countries and was seen as a simpleton and right-thinking show were Chuck Norris was always highlighted. He was harmed by his bad filmography where he acted every heroes you can imagine from a delta force veteran (his worst film) to a spirit of the forest (Mac Kenna). Chuck Norris is famous for being a martial artist who founded his own school and acted with Bruce Lee in the film "Way of the Dragon" in 1972 which is ,on my humble point of view, the greatest fight in Chuck Norris's filmography].

Bro Hard

Fifth character: 8 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses 2 automatic Ingram Mac-10.

Special attack: Throws a flash bang grenade, 3 ammunitions.

General's Brodela's info:

"Mr Hard had a normal life. A good cop with problems with its family. Everything was quite fine until this Christmas night…

His wife and all her coworkers of the Nakatomi Plaza were taken as hostages by a mad criminal: Gruber. It's unarmed and without shoes that Bro Hard started to prevent the robbery of millions of dollars and the potential death of his wife and dozens of innocents. And he succeeded. He got rid of the eleven robbers and gave to Gruber a ticket for a straight fly from the top of the plaza to the pavement!

But since this fu... night Bro Hard is the “unluckiest man” in the world. Always at the wrong place at the wrong moment especially when a dam terrorist acts or a member of Gruber's family decides to take revenge on him!

Broforce was aware of his problems. We decided to give him some help and in return we asked him to give us a hand in Mooks cleaning".

Notes:

[Bro Hard is inspired of the character John MacClane acted by Bruce Willis in the action movie: Die Hard.Directed in 1988, Die Hard is the first movie of a series that actually counts 5 episodes.Bro Hard has no shoes which is particular to the first episode. Instead of an mp5 smg like the first weapon John takes in the film, the developers gave him 2 Uzis. This is the only difference with the film. Die Hard is a classic especially if you consider the fact that after a romantic tv show (Moonlighting 1985-1989). Bruce Willis was revealed by the role of John MacClane. Mikey Rourke was at first chosen for the role but due to his problems with the justice they gave it to Bruce. It was an incredible success at the point that Bruce Willis didn't really get out of his role of tough guy with this bored looking. But whatever! John MacClane is a dam good character; he is the only one who can say: Yippee Kay Yeah motherf...ker !].

Mac Brover

Sixth character: 11 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: throws dynamite packs, you can stick them to enemies, medium blast radius.

Special attack: throws a turkey filled with dynamite, it attracts enemies and does a massive explosion after few seconds or you can detonate it by pressing again special attack key. 3 ammunitions.

Melee: Knife.

General Brodela’s info:

“In every team you have the kind of guy who can solve “problems”. The kind of technical problems. Because this dude stuck in a hole, he is capable of crafting a dam rope with the hairs of this ass!

Frankly, I don’t know the reason why this guy came into the Broforce. But when you will see his trick with the turkey… you will have to admit he is a damm artist with explosives!”

Notes:

[Inspired, of course, of the agent Angus MacGyver from the tv series broadcasted from 1985 to 1992 in U.S. Acted by Richard Dean Anderson, famous later in the role of Jack O’Neill in Stargate SG-1 (from 1997 to 2005). The series became famous because the hero tried to solve problems without violence and use of science. The character of MacGyver is a truly opposed to firearms due to an accident with a friend when he was young. Fact really new at the time in tv series. Did you know that during the theme you may think MacGyver was taking a Finsen’s bath? The truth is, in the related episode, he was stuck in a contaminated lab and he was doing an ultraviolet treatment.]

Brade

Seventh character: 15 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: fights with its silver sword, close range and very quick it does great damages against enemies but few against blocks.

Special attack: propels Brade in the horizontal direction he was moving or jumping, last few meters but destroy everything on its path. 3 ammunitions.

Melee: Knife.

General Brodela’s info:

“I will reveal the truth… vampires exists. And Brade is a half vampire who doesn’t give a sh… about his origins. Always with his sunglasses and black leather clothes, it’s the kind of guy that doesn’t talk too much… Except the fact that he can walk in the daylight without lighting like a living torch, Brade expresses himself in vampire slaying. We gave him the occasion to express himself in Mooks slaying. Broforce: first patron of all murder artists!”

Notes:

[Blade comes from a comic created in 1973 for Marvel. The movie of 1998, Blade or Eric Brooks was acted by Wesley Snipes. The story of Blade in the comics is quite long and linked to every myth about vampires (even Dracula). But the Blade in the comics was completely different from the one of the film. After the huge success of Blade in theaters, Marvel decided to link the film and the comic. Did you know that Blade marked the start of the time of “Comics Book Movies” launched by Marvel? After Blade, Marvel worked on X-Men, Spiderman, etc. … ]

Eighth character: 20 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: medium range semi-automatic bouncing shots from the Lawrode rifle (thanks to Dr Kosta M.D). Shots curves a little depending of the position of the enemy.

Special attack: shoot a controllable rocket with medium damage and speed. 3 ammunitions.

Melee: Knife.

General Brodela’s info:

“When I first saw him… I laughed. This big guy was wearing golden shoulder pads and an ugly helmet when he came to our base. All the day he said that stupid phrase: I am the law! I am the law! We were close to send him to asylum until we received from above the order to drop him on the field.

We don’t know where he found his rifle that bounces on everything. We don’t know where he comes from. We don’t know why he’s saying all the time that he is the law. But we are sure of one thing: he is a dam good soldier! Besides his name is Bro Dredd… it’s written on its badge.”

Notes:

[Bro Dredd comes from the movie Judge Dredd released in 1995. Dredd was acted by Sylvester Stallone. Judge Dredd is a comics created in 1977. It takes place in an apocalyptic future where fascists law are apply by the Judges: special agents capable to be judges, juries and even executioners. Dredd is the best of them. Using an over bike and a multifunction pistol. In Broforce, Dredd seems to have a rifle or shotgun. Because instead of Brobocop , Dredd wield his weapon with two hands. Judge Dredd was a failure in 1995. Sylvester Stallone was nominated to Golden Raspberry Award for this film.]

Bro In Black

Ninth character: 25 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses the “Noisy Cricket”, a heavy recoil weapon who launches a ball of energy which destroys everything and set enemies on fire. You can greatly compensate the recoil by holding the direction button where you want to shoot. 3 ammunitions.

Special attack: uses the “Neuralyzer” who creates a long horizontal beam and stuns enemies for few seconds. 3 ammunitions.

Melee: Knife.

General Brodela’s info:

“The Bros in Black. Always with black suits and sun glasses. One of the most guarded secret of Merica. I only know they have powerful means to get rid of government mess and be dressed like ♥♥♥… princesses! Jay is one of ‘em. He came on a previous mission where we suspected some abnormal activity. He is still with us. Some says it’s because things are going to be shambolic and this guy with his energy weaponry might be a precious asset. Any way! Jay is a cool guy and very friendly. Since his a arrival there is an increase number of cases of amnesia in the base… by the ways when did he joined us? Does anyone know?”

Notes:

“Bro in Black refers to agent J in Men in Black. Released in 1997, agent J was acted by Will Smith. The movie was based on the comics “The Men in Black” published in 1990. Did you know that the role of agent K was suggested to Clint Eastwood and this one refused? Will Smith was close to do the same thing after having read the script. But his wife convinced him to choose the role. Men in Black has 2 other episodes. Men in Black 2: is the worst one. Had a bad scenario who tried to get back the character of agent K. But Men in Black 3 saved the series by betting on an eccentric half prequel… and it worked. In my humble opinion, if you haven’t seen any Men in Black films, start by the first and finish by the third. Men in Black 2 is distressing.”

Tenth character: 31 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses an Ingram Mac-10 with a scope. Long range and powerfull.

General Brodela’s info:

"Snake... this name means a lot to me. This vet was convicted. Dunno what happenened to him but he was quite angry against our country. Later he was forced to get out the president from a real deep shi... the kind of mess where only a crazy or a desperate man can dive into. Snake was successfull. But he received nothing in return only an awkward excuse from our president and to be left in peace... until we had to ask him for some help. Later he showed us the reason of his nick name, a cold reptile with a preference for taking bast... from a distance and bring peace with a Molotov.”

Notes:

[Snake Broskin comes from Snake Plissken, acted by Kurt Russell in Escape from New York released in 1981. Snake is and ex-soldier who became a criminal who were recruited for exfiltration of the president who crashed on Manhattan Island. The place became a high security prison in a dark future where criminality exploded. This movie was a great success. Kurt Russel acted with Ysaac Hayes (the Duke) who was a a singer and a soul music composer. He was the man behind the music of the great movie "Shaft" symbol of the Blaxploitation movement. Did you know that the character of Snake was a source of inspiration for the hero of the video game: Metal Gear Solid? With the same name and face, Hiedo Kojima creator of the Metal Gear series even named Snake in Metal Gear Solid 2: Iroquois Plisskin. The character of Big Boss, the father of Snake, looks like Plissken because he lost an eye at the beginning of his career.]

Brominator

Eleventh character: 35 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses a handheld GE M134 Minigun . Very fast and powerful, the drawback is the huge recoil of the weapon. At the point you can move faster in the opposite direction of your firing, useful for escaping with successive jumps.

Special attack: Brominator reveals his true face and became resistant to bullets, explosions and melee attacks. Only falling out of the limits of the map can kill him. 1 ammunition.

Melee: Knife.

General Brodela’s info:

“This mass of muscles is a cyborg. The rest about him is classified. He is tough and uses a huge mini gun on the battle field. This… thing is incredible to see! When a big guy dressed like a biker swing a mini gun as if it was a frying pan and is capable to reflect bullets… well I have to admit it’s a perfect example of being a real Bro!”

Notes:

[Brominator is Terminator. The first episode was released in 1984. A great success and confirmed Arnold Schwarzenegger in his status of movie star after Conan: the Barbarian. In Broforce, the Terminator is from Terminator 2 - Judgment Day (1991). It is the first episode where the Terminator loses the half of his face. In the first movie, the Terminator gests an injury at one of his eyes and hides it with sun glasses. And it’s in Terminator 2 where he uses for the first time a mini gun to neutralize police officers in front of Cyberdyne offices. The Terminator story is not finish, the last episode: Terminator-Salvation (2009) was a commercial success but reviews were bad especially against the absence of Schwarzenegger. The trailer of Terminator-Salvation was elected one of the worst trailers of year 2009. A new Terminator is in progress. Terminator-Genesis is planned to be a reboot of the series and Schwarzenegger will act again as the Terminator. In parallel a series will follow the story of this reboot.]

Brobocop

Twelfth character: 45 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses the "Auto 9" a semi-automatic pistol, medium range, you can hold firing key to load bullets and delivers a powerful attack (longer you hold, more bullets will be shot).

Special attack: Assisted targeting system which locks enemies you target. After few seconds the targeting system stops and Brobocop shoots guided bullets to every selected enemy. 3 ammunitions.

Melee: Knife.

General Brodela’s info:

“Another good guy felt in its fight against criminality! Alex Murphy left a wife and a son behind him.

But an unscrupulous mega-corporation took his body and used it to create a cyborg cop: Brobocop.

Back to service he was forced to clean his city of the thugs by the program inserted in his brain. He still needs to restore completely his personality. His trigger is a bit slow but he is a sharpshooter. Nothing can escape from him even behind thick walls!”

Notes:

[Brobocop comes from the movie released in 1987: Robocop. At this time it was a great success which encouraged 2 new episodes and a tv series. Robocop is still famous for its criticism of progress, authoritarianism, violence and capitalism. The same themes as Starshiptroopers (1997),moreover another film from Paul Verhoeven. Alex Murphy was acted by Peter Weller, you may have seen him in the fifth season of Dexter].

Indiana Brones

Thirteenth character: 55 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses his whip to reach elevated locations, it can be used to attack enemies.

Special attack: uses a Smith & Wesson M1917 Revolver, very powerfull shots which goes trough enemies. 6 ammunitions.

Melee: he is the only character to use a pickaxe. Of course you dig your way through blocks faster.

General Brodela’s info:

“Indianna is the intellectual of the squad. Mooks love to hide is old temples hidden in the deepest jungle. We lost too many men in there. So we called him to clear the path and spot every trap we could encounter. He did a good job! And when it’s time to kick some butt, he is not to be outdone in the fire of the action.”

Notes:

[Indiana Jones was acted By Harrison Ford in the film: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the lost Ark (1981). Inspired by the serials of his childhood, George Lucas wanted somebody new to play Indiana in the film of Spielberg because Harrison Ford was already in Star Wars. So Tom Selleck was auditioned but he was bound to his contract with Magnum. After that Spielberg convinced Lucas to choose Harrison Ford. Indiana Jones was born and the film of 1981 was the beginning of a series of four episodes. The last one: The Kingdom of the Cristal Skull (2008), was a big commercial success. But the film was predictable because everything were caught in the previous episodes. In 2003 the character of Indiana Jones was ranked second in the ranking of “The best heroes and villains of the cinema” by the American Film Institute. Note that the developpers made a mistake in the name of Indiana (Indianna)].

Ash Brolliams

Fourteenth character: 63 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses the "Boomstick" a Steoger Coach Shotgun, very powerful but low rate of fire, each shot scatters in 5.

Special attack: runs waving in front of him his chainsaw to destroy everything, lasts few seconds, 1 ammunition.

Melee: Knife.

General Brodela’s info:

“Take a supermarket worker. Give him the occasion to participate to a special evil summoning week end. Starring a demon who possessed our hero’s friends, girlfriend and even … his right hand. Mix that with a chainsaw and a sawed-off shotgun. And you got the ultimate evil slayer: Ash Brolliams. I have to confess, if he didn’t have a missing hand, I would have already borrowed his “Boomstick”. Cauz’ this is a hell of a weapon!”

Notes:

[Evil Dead was filmed in 1981. It was the first film of Sam Raimi (he was 20 years old). Evil Dead cut with standards of horror movies. New technics of filming, humor, even the story quite basic at the beginning became completely crazy as one goes along the episodes. Indeed, Evil Dead was a success, realized with a low budget; he brought enough money to release 3 movies. Ash Brolliams comes from Army of Darkness (1992) the third movie with the character of Ash Williams. Sam Raimi plans to release a fourth movie in the continuity of Army of Darkness. There was a remake of the first Evil Dead in 2013, but it doesn’t deserve your interest. Ash Williams was acted by Bruce Campbell who was in the tv series Burn notice (2007-2013)].

Boondock Bros

Sixteenth charaters: 79 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: the 2 bros uses two pairs of automatic Beretta 92FS.

Special attack: The Boondocks Bros have a special ability which makes them very powerful. When they are two, pressing special attack key will call their friend the Duke. He will follow them and attack like them (they all have the same weapons) but sometimes he will chase enemies lefts behind so be careful! When the trio is activated taking a shot will kill Duke. Taking another will kill one of the brothers, taking a third and game over. But if you find some ammo and use again the special attack it will bring back the missing brother. 1 ammunition.

Bonus: If one of the two brothers dies, the remaining will enter in a berserker mode increasing his rate of fire (doesn't work if the Duke dies).

[Brochete is Danny Trejo the big Machete Cortez. Released in 2010 by Robert Rodriguez, the disciple of Tarrantino. Also known for Desperado or Sin City, Robert Rodriguez imposed his style with Machete. Totally exaggerated and coarse, Machete is a true release of fun typical of this director. Machete had a sequel, Machete: Kills released in 2013. Robert Rodriguez is actually working on the next Sin City and a third Machete.]

Basic attack: waves his sword, holding the key will load the attack and launch a devastating blow if you release it.

Special attack: smash the ground with the sword, destroying everything. 5 ammunitions.

“Long hairs. Fur loincloth. Big muscles with a big… sword. Bronan is a dam powerful swordsman but slow and awkward some times. Don’t ask him about his gender or he may drink his wine into your skull…

Notes:

[Bronan was inspired of Conan the Cimmerian. From the movie of John Milius released in 1982.

Conan received mixed reviews at the time but was a success leading to a sequel Conan the Destroyer. Reviews criticized the gap between the original story from Robert E. Howard and the movie. Howard was a writer of pulps in 1930. Conan in the real story was a Cimmerian barbarian who became a king in a fictional world based on our ancient world. During his life Conan became a thief, a bandit leader, a pirate or even a general. Conan comes from many short stories written for occasional jobs of E.Howard. The childhood of Conan was never mentioned. The film took distance and tried to have its own style. Even if there are many scenes of violence, characters are quite deep and landscapes are beautiful. All this is better than the last Conan released in 2011… totally uninteresting].

Basic attack: Uses the M41-A Pulse Rifle, fires energy beams which explodes enemy corpses. Very efficient for destroying blocks.

[Ellen Ripbro comes from Aliens released in 1986. Ellen Ripley acted by Sigourney Weaver started this role in the first movie of the franchise, Alien (1979). Alien is a classic of sci-fi/horror movies. Did you know that the Alien, the xenomorph, was created by the Swiss artist H.R. Giger. Half organic and half mechanical, the creature designed by Giger became one of the most famous characters invented in the cinema of the twentieth century. Alien is a big film franchise that counts 4 episodes were different directors worked. Sigourney Weaver played in every film, and the saga stopped in the fourth episode on an opened ending. Riddley Scott, director of the first Alien, released “Prometheus” in 2012. Everybody thought this movie would be a prequel of the Alien saga. But it’s the starting of another saga parallel of the original.The Ellen Ripley of Broforce is the one of Alien 2 (Aliens) the movie directed by James Cameron. With this film, Cameron gave the elements that made the franchise famous. The overall design was ambitious and is still modern. One thing interesting in the second Alien is the lack of violence. This episode is the less violent of the franchise, and on my humble point of view, the best.]

[Inspired of a comic, Timecop was released in 1994. Many people actually have forgot that this movie was the second most profitable in the filmography of Jean-Claude Van Damme. The first is Expendable 2. Van Damme was revealed by Bloodsport (1988), Timecop was the top of his career. He acted in many actions movies like Kickboxer, Street Fighter, Full contact, Double Team, ect… Van Damme was recognized as an actor in the film JCVD. Well reviewed by the press but the public didn’t followed. He is actually working on a TV series.]

Basic attack: Uses a semi-automatic Armsel Striker/Protector shotgun.

Special attack: Can revive an enemy or an ally to help in combat (with the appropriate timing you can use this ability before the death of Broniversal and be able to resurrect him for the next Bro). 5 ammunitions.

“A secret military program tried to create the ultimate soldier from the bodies of some vets who felt in Vietnam. Luc Deveraux or GR44 was one of these freaks. But things ♥♥♥... up and the program turned against those who tried to play gods. GR44 put to an end the rebellion of the soldiers. But at the price of remembering his past life and being without purpose in a time he doesn’t understand.

The Broforce worked hard to bring him back and uses the program to our advantage in the war against Mooks. Take a bodybuilder full of testosterone, with an ugly cybernetic eye patches who’s capable to resurrect foes or friends and you have the Broniversal Soldier!”

Notes:

[Universal Soldier was released in 1992. Directed by Roland Emmerich, the man behind Independence Day, Stargate or 2012. The movie itself is not particular but its notoriety comes from the presence of two of the biggest action movie stars of the time, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. Lundgren acts the role of GR13 the enemy of GR44. Did you know that this is the only franchise where Jean-Claude Van Damme acted in every episode? The last Universal Soldier episode was released in 2012. There are still Van Damme and Lundgren with a newcomer: Scott Adkins.]

[This is a discovery for me. Some people told me that this character was from the movie Delta Force, but it was wrong. I’ve searched a character acted by Chuck Norris with a headband like the one in the game and I found James Braddock. This character comes from the movie “Missing in action” released in 1984. This one of the greatest movies in the filmography of Chuck Norris after Expendable 2. I never saw it so I can’t judge about it. Delta Force is known its many cliché and its gratuitous violence. That’s the reason why Delta Force is still famous. For some it is the worst film of Chuck Norris for others it is his best. The choice is yours anyhow!]

Cherry Broling

Twenty third character: 214 rescues to unlock.

Basic attack: uses, replacing one of her legs, an automatic Bushmaster HBAR Carbine.

She is the only character capable to shoot under her. But she must be jumping to be able to attack. She is unable to shoot in front of her. This attack is enought powerfull to stay a bit longer in the airs. It has a radius of approximately 70 degrees. On the ground, she cannot run and when waking she limps, which makes jumping the fastest way to move.

Special attack: uses the Cobray CM203 of the Bushmaster to throw a grenade with a small radius of explosion, 5 ammunitions.

Melee: Knife.

General Brodela’s info:

“Be ware rookies. Don’t drool over her cauz she’s not the kind of girl you can imagine. An ex-cheerleader? Or the bee queen of your high school? Whatever!

She was a lap dancer in a godforsaken place. Until one night, when a bunch of rogue soldiers spread a biological weapon capable to turn people into brainless cannibals. Cherry tried to escape her town with her old boyfriend. But some freaks took one of her leg for a tasty snack …

But you know what? Even without her leg she didn’t gave up! She found a rifle and used is as a peg leg to kill all these fu… creatures! Cherry put to an end this mess but at a high price, her boyfriend died during the fight. Now she tries to forget by blasting Mooks for the Broforce.

Oh! And be careful, she is a bit quick tempered. The last guy who messed with her, finished without his… family jewels".

[Take Tarrantino, Rodriguez, Romero’s zombies and you have a gory mess named: Planet Terror. Released in 2007 and directed by Robert Rodriguez (again !). Cherry Darling, acted by Rose McGowan, is the main character of the movie. In front of lieutenant Muldoon, acted by Bruce Willis, the villain of the film. You can also see Josh Brolin (Llewelyn Moss in No country for Old Men, K in Men in Black 3) Michael Biehn (Kyle Reese in Terminator 1, Corporal Dwayne Ricks in Aliens, or Sergent Rex Colt in the game Farcry 3: Blood dragon), Stacy Fergusson/ Fergie of the Black Eyed Pease, or Jeff Fahey (that you can see in the first Machete). Did you know that Planet Terror, even if the reviews where very good, was a commercial failure? The movie was supposed to be a diptych with Death Proof another film of the Grindhouse franchise with Machete. Rose McGowan acted in Death Proof too. She was the first victim of Stuntman Mike acted by Kurt Russel. Moreover, she was still playing in the tv show Charmed during the beginning of Planet Terror’s shooting. She stopped everything to act in the movie. Planet Terror is a funny film, very violent, particularly noticeable to be one of the only movies where you can see Bruce Willis dying (12 Monkeys, Armageddon, Sin City)].
