Introduction
I'm saying this now, the 2 weapons in this guide are attainable, and the information of this guide is valid as of 11/13/17. If that changes for either of them, I will adjust this guide accordingly. NOW, let's get started...
In Chapter 3 you recieve a number of different weapons to use during the story:
-- The Flashlight = Not really a weapon, but still necessary carry-able item. (Found on a desk, then given to Boris... Who then uses and loses it.)
-- The Pipe = Found by Boris, but he gives it to you. (Seemingly the "stock" weapon of Chapter 3.)
-- The Plunger = Given by Alice for the battery mission. (Arguably worse than the pipe.)
-- The Wrench = Given by Alice for the gear mission. (Stronger than the pipe, but not as powerful as the axe.)
-- The Syringe = Given by Alice for the Thick Searcher mission. (Can't break boards, but seemingly as strong as the wrench).
-- The Axe = Given by Alice for the Cutout mission. (Thus far, the most powerful melee weapon.)
As I said though, this guide is to help you find 2 that aren't required, but are still very useful to have...
Tommy Gun - Lock N Load
Getting the Tommy gun is actually part of an achievement, so there's plenty who know how to get it.
Step 1: When you reach the fork passage for either the "Demon" or "Angel" paths. In order to get the gun, you'll have to go through the "Demon" path. (I tried it with the "Angel" path, and did everything else, but it didn't unlock.)
Step 2: In the room with the toy-making machine and the moving shelves, there's a tape recorder on a desk with a bowl and a little ink molding on it. Interact with the mold enough times to transform it into the Ink Machine. (Please note, if you reload anytime after this, the mold will revert to it's first form and no longer be the Ink machine's shape. I'm not certain if this affects the unlocking in the long run, but I will test later and keep you informed.)
Step 3: Don't die. That's it. After you've done steps 1 and 2, the only thing left for you to do is reach Alice Angel's final mission where she finally shows you the Tommy gun without dying. ((There's a couple of tricks that can help make it easier such as the weapon in the next section or the fact that you should avoid running for more than a few seconds at a time when necessary since running attracts Bendy to appear in your area, but otherwise I'd rather not risk them all being patched off, so anyway... I'll quit wasting time, and let's continue instead... ...))
Hello my little friend...!
Afterward: Congratulations! You now have the strongest weapon in the game (at least in Chapter 3). It can do anything the axe can, and at long range, EXCEPT destroy Bendy cutouts. The Tommy gun has infinite ammo, but needs to be reloaded after about 20 shots, and it can ONLY be reloaded once the current clip is used up. Keep that in mind between engagements. Once you HAVE the Tommy gun, you won't lose it whether you die or reload, so long as you aren't reloading from a point before you got it. Also, if you managed to unlock the Tommy Gun, I recommend using IT instead of the weapon from the next section for the task of taking down the Projectionist. After that, you're free to do with it as you wish until the Angel takes it back.
(Final Warning --- The gun IS powerful, but even it can't harm the Ink Demon. Beware him.)
THIS'LL STOP YOU! DIE! DIE!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------ Oh wow! It worked!!!
It was at this moment, Henry knew... He ****ed up! (Also, why do I hear 'Roundabout' playing?)
Grant Cohen's Super Secret Weapon - The 2nd Axe
I don't know why, but nobody has ever mentioned this weapon before this guide. Whether in other guides or Let's Plays. I've yet to see anybody using or speaking of this weapon aside from me. It isn't an achievement weapon either so the developers don't talk about it. What it is, is a secret spare axe that can be found in the side office of Grant Cohen on Level 9 near the elevator. (What the hell an accountant has an axe in his office for is beyond me.)
See that doorway to the right? The one off to the side that is by where that opening in the wall is boarded up. THAT is the real door to get in, and it normally has 3 boards covering it up.
You'll need to unlock it with the first axe you recieve from Alice Angel, but ONLY UNLOCK THE DOOR. DO NOT TOUCH THE WEAPON UNTIL AFTER SHE TAKES THE FIRST ONE!
If you take the 2nd axe while you still have the first, it will replace the one you have, AND you will be unable to keep it when you go and turn in the axe after completing the cutout mission.
Now here's the trick. Once you complete the cutout mission, you're going to hear Alice start to complain about enemies coming after her (even though they only really aim for you). The second you're back to just the pipe, turn around and start running for Grant's office.
Don't bother looking around, don't try to fight off some of the searchers (they respawn infinitely until the Butcher gang members die... Learned that the hard way), don't waste time. You need to get into that office and GRAB THE AXE! At which point, if all goes well, not only are you now in an ideal defensive position, because the enemies can only come through the doorway one at a time, but you also have the advantage of a better weapon since the axe can kill searchers in 1 hit, and the Butcher gang members in 1-2 hits each depending on aim.
You might take a few hits getting into the room, but once inside you'll have an easier time holding them off.
Get the axe and get choppin'. Heeeeeeeeeere's HENRY!!!!
Once you defeat the Butcher Gang, you'll be done with that objective. At which point, Alice will offer you the Tommy Gun. If you did all that was said above, then you'll have unlocked the gun and it will replace the axe. Otherwise, you should still have the axe which is a better weapon overall compared to the pipe, so even the Projectionist will be at least somewhat easier to kill with it rather than the pipe (it takes about 10 hits from the axe VS 60-72 hits using the pipe to kill the Projectionist).
HOWEVER, there are a few other things you should know about Grant's axe. IF you have the Tommy Gun, and IF you didn't take the axe before now, but go into the room, you can take the axe which will take the place of the Tommy Gun (yknow, if you're trying to waste all the effort from getting the gun since the gun can break boards too).
That said, what IS useful is that if you continue/reload the game after unlocking Grant's room with the first axe that Alice gave you, Grant's axe will be back in there again, and even though the top board will be over the door, you can still open the door and collect the axe once again.
This means that technically speaking. It is completely possible to do this...
Look Boris! Souvenir!
Hey! I didn't steal this from YOU, Alice... I stole it from Grant Cohen.
The 2nd Weapon's 3 Secret Trials
There's one other major use for Grant's axe. After completing all the missions for Alice, and her telling you to return to the lift. DO NOT ENTER THE ELEVATOR. Sorry, but this time you'll need to take the stairs. Go all the way up to Level K, and head back to the Heavenly Toys Workshop (the room with the ink mold used for getting the tommy gun). You'll see a section covered floor to ceiling with wooden boards. Chop your way through.
Inside you'll see 3 switches. However you can only pull them one at a time. (Which is honestly a good thing, because of what comes when you pull them.)
Round 1 - A Swarm of Searchers. These are a bit tougher than usual, because they take 2 hits from the axe a piece. Suffice to say, you should only fight 1 or 2 of them at a time. Use the barriers and walls to your advantage. After you kill them all, head back and pull the 2nd switch...
Round 2 - A Butcher Gang Brigade! Instead of a room full of Searchers, you'll have a room full of Butcher Gang members to deal with. Don't bother trying to run away toward the elevator, because the door shuts and locks for the time being. However there IS a major advantage to the Butcher Gang fight...
That's right. Bendy. He can appear during any of these trials (the 1st one with the Searchers is the absolute worst time.) The reason why Bendy can be a great help during this round is because he kills members of the Butcher Gang instantly and on his own. He will actively pursue and kill any of them if you keep off his radar. Anyway, upon finishing them all off, you're ready for the final switch...
ROUND 3! What could it be?
A Giant Searcher! It takes 20 axe hits to kill it, I recommend fighting it on the stairs since it'll be easier to dodge. Be VERY careful since this big guy is strong enough to kill you in 2 hits.
Finish it and you win the prize! (What's the prize? You'll have to win it to find out!)
Conclusion
That'll do for now, I hope this helps, and if you have anything you think I missed or need to mention, clarify, or change, let me know and I shall look into it.
