how to turn off weapon depth of field

File Navigation: Documents Folder Pinned

if your Documents folder is pinned, congratulations! click on that, and skip to part 3.

File Navigation: Documents Folder Not Pinned

if you do not have your Documents folder pinned, you will need to navigate your computer's files. on Windows, this should be a breeze. i'm not sure about Linux however since i don't use it.

so, to begin, open File Explorer, and go to This PC. from there, you will either be faced with one or multiple Hard Drive/SSD options. you'll want to click Local Disk (C:)

here's where things start to get complicated. you'll be met with a bunch of files. you'll want to click Users

here, you'll see two folders, ignore Public, click the other one. you'll see a bunch of folders. click Documents.

Last Stage.

now, let's begin the final, and most complicated stage of the process. in Documents, click the Battlefield 2042 folder. you'll see 3 folders: CrashDumps, Screenshots, and settings. click settings.

there will be 2 files here: PROFSAVE, and PROFSAVE_profile. click PROFSAVE_profile, making sure to open it with Notepad just once.

now there's a bunch of scary text but don't worry we're almost there. scroll all the way down, and the third line from the bottom will say GstRender.WeaponDOF 1. change the 1 to a 0, save the document, and close Notepad and File Explorer.

now you can start up the game, load into a match, and weapon depth of field should be off. keep in mind it will still be on for sights with a 2x zoom of higher. you cannot change this at all as far as i know.

Thanks For Reading :)
