Here's my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie maker video

or here's a better video that i DIDNT MAKE if you don't want to read

Video credit: Click here for video

if the video was too bad i have a giant wall of text explaining most of the video

Requirements

1.Credits

You think this was for free?

You are INVESTING.

There are low to high teir items you can trade. I traded fruits to a luxary food factory for profit during my iron - titanium stage of the game. It's a hard knock life.

Later just hitting naonite, i traded displays and processors till i had 10m.

2. WIKI PAGE

There's an easy wiki page you can view about everything about items and what they can be sold and bought to. Aswell as infomation about the factories.

you can click HERE [avorion.gamepedia.com] for the link to the wiki page

3. A ship!

Any working ship will do. I'd recommend heaps of power and battery storage to boost away from trouble and to power your hyperdrive fully. Good thrust and break thrust is always helpful.

Trade and cargo space upgrades are always helpful.

percentage cargo space increases are better because how little they drain your energy.

It's not necessary to have heaps of cargo space. Some items have different volumes. It's up to your what you want to trade and the factories that spawn in colonized sectors around you.

You can either trade in quantity or quality. I'll talk about this later.

My trading ship

4. Exploring your galaxy

Before we attempt to trade you should explore sectors around you. Loop through warp gates and keep note of what factories you encounter. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Trading also increases rep with factions.

Once you have explored and equipped your ship for trading let's find a trading route.

How To Trade

Giant wall of text

Lets get down to business.

What is trading?

Trading is where we source an item from a factory or a trading post. And then locate another factory or station that we can sell it to for a profit. It's always better to source the item from a factory. I shall call the items we buy of stations to sell inputs.

Outputs are what a factory produces(what they sell to YOU or others)

Factories are usually named after the item, factory name and size of the factory

For example: Steel Factory L

Steel factory large

(Larger factories mean more cargo spaces)

Why do i call them outputs or Inputs?

Because factories that need items to function only buy and sell. What they buy from YOU is an input and what they produce from the INPUTS is an output.

Not all factories need items to produce. There are basic tier 1 factories and fundable mines that dont need any items to produce only cargo spaces.

Okay now all the inputs and outputs ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is done lets get right into the news.

Trading is basically finding an item that is an requirement to building another item and selling it for a profit.

Because the factory needs the item to function it will buy it for more then you bought it for thus making profit.

The prices always change varying to how much the stock of the item is and the demand. Having higher stock of an item means it will buy it from you for lower amounts. Having low stock of an item will cause the factory to buy it from you for higher.

Basic trade knowledge.

This also effects the output of the factory. Having more of an item to sell will decrease the price because they want to sell the item fast. Lower stock of an output will cause it to increase in price because they want to keep them.

Explain it already

With an trading module or of the use of the wiki page. We can find what specific items are produced and sold to other factories. Thus making profit from buying and selling inbetween factories as i said earlier.

LINK TO THE WIKI PAGE IS HERE[avorion.gamepedia.com]

Example:

In the video tutorial i found an laser head factory that needs an input of conductors(from a conductor factory) and would buy them for 80cr and sell them to the laser head factory for 120cr.

So i found the conductor factory, Docked with it. And bought the required items. And then warped back to the Laser Head factory to sold the conductors to it.

That's 40cr per item profit(Will change depening on stock counts and the demand for the item)

I sold 1833 conductors for 120cr each for a total profit for this run 73,000 credits.

The factory was almost max cargo limit and didnt buy them for much. But i still made profit regardless.

But! 73k is bad money

73k for about 10 minutes of semi afk work isn't much compared to sell body armors for 15-30k profit per item. For around 50m a run.

Trade whatever items that are in your price range.

I only sold about 75% of my cargo because the station was at max cargo limit.

Screenshots

These are my player build stations, You don't get payed for trading with your own stations.

In my video i go over how to build your own briefly.

Good Items To Trade

Energy Cells -- You can sell these to heaps of factories. They are worth trading in high amounts and are produced for free.

Processors - Shipyards , repair docks and other factories buy these. They don't have much volume and trade around 7k per item.

Body Armors - The best item to trade in the game. I buy them from a trading station for 70k each and can be only sold to military outputs for about 100k each

Displays - Like processors can be sold to Shipyards and repair docks.

Electron Accelerator OR Neutron Accelerator OR Proton Accelerator -- They sell for ALOT. And usually traded alot end game. THEY ONLY SELL TO RESEARCH STATIONS

Vehicle - Like body armors, they can be sold only to militray outposts, And there is lots of them so finding them isnt hard.

Read the wiki for more infomation.

I've Done A Trading Run, What's Next?

Well that's up to you. With more money now you can buy more and upgrade your ship to carry more items and make more profts on an trading run.

Or you can find something else to trade.

Factories ONLY work when an active player is in the sector

Keep inmind of the stock of the factories you buy and sell to. In the tutorial video i couldnt sell all my items because of the stock of the factory was maxed.

YOU CANT DO THIS FOR EVER

Eventually the factory you're buying to or selling to runs out of items or cant hold enough. And the profit ends. ALWAYS CHECK THIS.

In that case just find another factory

Well I Now Have Millions. What Next..

I honestly don't know. I use alot of money making turrets from turret factories.

I will not be covering this because ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥ i'm too tired and hungry.

You can either

Buy resources from Resource Depots and build a fleet

Purchase a factory and start trading from your own factories

Buy the 3mil Xsotan Artifact needed for the main quest line from travelling equipment merchants

MORE TRADING RUNS AND MORE MONEY
