How To Connect on Multiplayer Without LAN

Disclaimer

This guide is only a quick fix to play Attack On Toys with your friends, the gameplay is still unstable and you can expect frequent disconnects in higher more chaotic rounds of the game.

I've tried this method with my Brother once, and we had a fun time despite the DC's at higher rounds.

We haven't attempted this method with more than 2 of us at a time, so more than that could produce unstable results (But feel free to try!)

IMPORTANT! Expect FREQUENT disconnects, the game is still pretty unstable and Hamachi isn't flawless either. If you're playing on an Invasion gamemode, make sure all the players involved have the game set to the same game difficulty. All players are rewarded for completion of missions if they DC, they just have to ensure they have the same difficulty selected so everyone gets the same medals.

Step 1. Download Hamachi

Hamachi is a VPN software that can be used to connect two computers directly to each other via an online format, in other words, it's a LAN connection that doesn't need to be local.

To download Hamachi, go to "www.vpn.net" and click the green download button in the middle of the screen. Everyone who you are wanting to play with will need Hamachi running in order to join.

I already have Hamachi set up, so I wouldn't know the exact process of the set up wizard. If you prefer a proper walkthrough via video format there should be plenty of them you can find on Youtube.

Step 2. Set Up A Network On Hamachi

All you need to do is create a network for your friends to connect to.

In Hamachi, all you need to do is click

"Network --> Create a New Network"

Then you type in the name of your network ID (The Network Name) and the password. Give that information to your friends and let them connect. They can do this by clicking

"Network --> Join an Existing Network"

(Important note: Make sure the person who creates the network is the one who is hosting the game on Attack On Toys. Otherwise, you may not be able to connect.

Step 3: Start A Multiplayer Game On Attack On Toys

All that's left is to start up the game. The host will create a game room on Attack On Toys in the Multiplayer LAN section, and once in the game, other players who are connected to your Hamachi Network should be able to see that game in their Multiplayer LAN section and join it.

Conclusion

This was just a quick throw together I thought I'd share because it worked for me and my brother. We live in the same house but couldn't get a wired connection to work between our PC's so this was an easy alternative.

Please feel free to add on any information in the comments that could benefit others knowledge, I for one know that if you port forward a game and still use Hamachi with it, the games connection will be alot more reliable. I just don't know this games assigned port... If anybody knows, do tell!

Hope this helps out somebody!
