Assassin's Creed II Stuttering And Performance Fix (2020)

I will be writing other guides for AC Brotherhood, Revelations, and AC3 Remastered, that all share a common fix, however the fix for this game is slightly different.

This fix has been tested with the Steam Deluxe Version of the game, but should work with any base version on any client.

Please Read Carefully: Launch AC2 through Steam or whatever client you are using to play.

Press ALT+TAB to return to the desktop.

Open the task manager using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.

Head over to the "Details" tab,

Right click the executable, typically towards the top of the list if sorted alphabetically.

Click "set affinity."

Uncheck the first core at the top of the list. In this case, uncheck Core 0.

Click "OK."

You should be able to close Task Manager, and ALT+TAB back into the game, but now with even smoother and more consistent performance! Do note that this game has a hard cap of 60 FPS, so you will not exceed this even with a high refresh rate monitor.PLEASE NOTE: THIS FIX MUST BE DONE EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU LAUNCH THE GAME!
