When you're saved, you receive and are baptized with the holy ghost (acts 11:14-18). To continue and deny the Holy Ghost by not having a certain specific faith- you are resisting the Holy Ghost. You effectively blaspheme it as unholy and undesirable when you resist it unto your soon death. The book of Hebrews also speaks of trampling on the blood of Jesus- as like an unholy thing. Essentially you are spitting in the face of God by rejecting his gift; all while your next breath and your eternal destination rests within his control.

The book of Acts shows the start of receiving the Holy Spirit, yet it changes throughout.

You've got to hear something (VERY SPECIFIC) and believe on it (IN THE RIGHT WAY.) Most people already know about Jesus- that he died for our sins and was resurrected; yet even if you believe those two events happened, that doesn't make your faith in Jesus a saving faith in Jesus.

There are many types of faith, in many kinds of things to have faith in.

There are several gospels throughout the Bible- but only one in currently in motion. Another one came before by the mouth of Jesus, this one comes from the mouth of Paul by revelation of Christ given unto him for this time period; then the last "everlasting gospel" comes from the mouth of an angel, Moses, and Elijah during the tribulation period.

Of course, even though I've regurgitated this onto your screen (which you 100% scrolled past without reading)- it's usually difficult to grasp the actual gospel properly- without subverting it with doubt of Christ's finished work on and off the cross; as many Christians today are hell-bound for not having the proper faith- due to ignorance; only partial knowledge of the scripture.

While you actually can just quote a few lines from Romans or Corinthians- to show the boiled down version of the gospel; few get rooted into it, and essentially "believe in vain" to just later abandon the faith (that they weren't actually in.) This is why it's always encouraged to read the bible for yourself instead of only listening to a pastor preach about discipleship to Christ on a Sunday- as then you'll probably doubt you're saved without works.

The gospel is indeed about the death and resurrection of Christ, though it's better represented in Romans 3; "faith in his blood." As our faith is about and in what the sacrifice of Jesus has done for us.

I believed in vain for roughly 3 years before finally trusting; and almost died before being saved, all while saying, "it's okay mom, I know Jesus." Though really, he didn't know me. 🤡

Simplest Explanation

Trust in the blood atonement offered by Jesus- being enough to save you. His blood was shed on the cross at his death- and later offered up in heaven on the mercyseat by himself (after he rose) to complete the sacrificial atonement. This has Old Testament vibes of lamb sacrifices during passover- because the Old Testament was meant to be an arrow for the New Testament; Christ, the Lamb of God who was offered during passover. First slain to spill innocent blood, then offered up to appease wrath of the Father for who ever claims the sacrifice.

By trusting on the sacrifice of Jesus for what it has objectively done- you are now found blameless, accredited with Jesus the Christ's righteousness, a new creation birthed with the insertion of the Holy Spirit, a son of God, heaven bound, irrevocably saved.

But many Christians overthrow what the sacrifice has done- by claiming you also have to turn from sin (to some unspecified extent) and devote yourself to God (to some unspecified extent) in order to hopefully maybe qualify for receiving salvation if you continue submitting to the Lord's will without ever faltering. My salvation guide speaks of this error a bit. Here's a few verses to combat this:

While you still sin with your flesh- it is not what you are; if you're actually saved by the right trusting faith in the right thing.

Though, don't expect the continued decision to subjection of sin- to be approved or unpunished. Paul still speaks of this. Just know that you are saved no matter what follows (during this unique time under the ministry of the Apostle Paul.) The Church of Christ is special.

If you're reading this during the tribulation; you better buckle ur pants (gird your loins) and fear God with every decision- because in that time you can do many things to be deemed unqualified for entering the Kingdom that speedily comes.
