Does muscle memory exist?

So Does It?

Does it exist in skill-based tasks?

Believe it or not but your body is pretty dam incredible, and muscle memory, in general, does most certainly exist, in fact, it is the reason why athletes spend time shooting a ball into a goal and keep on playing it. Without muscle memory in sports, anybody with good eye-hand coordination and good knowledge could just beat everyone and without it, there would be literally no point in doing the same thing over and over again yet they do.

Now, this is a form of implicit memory that our brain does in order to learn things through repetition, like how hard we need to pull a door in order to open it, over time we don't even think however the first time we do it we might need to pull it harder or softer. This is because it makes us more efficient at doing multiple things at once like during hunting we wouldn't have wanted to think about how to move our legs while tracking an animal. In fact, studies have shown that pretty much every animal such as mice uses muscle memory. In fact, in the sports and psychology field, they unilaterally agree that this exists

So does it exist in gaming, well we have no reason not to believe it does? When people change sens's and their aim is better it is typically because they were either using a bad or awkward sens for them or by changing it they play slower because they are more confident which gets them increased kills. In fact, we have even found that Muscle memory is used while playing the piano.

Can you see this already in Esports:

In counter-strike which takes the largest amount of precision, YES extremely so. 90% of PROS do not change their sens unless they are using one which is way too high or low. For example S1mple, Xantares, Niko ect. In fact Niko himself has inadvertently said that you should train muscle memory by saying to play DM every day and it is the reason why he said that playing every day is more important than playing all day. Another good example in cs is that I can not draw the spray perfectly on cs yet I just do it on my sens when I change sens I end up whiffing it.

How people usually counter:

I changed my sens and i am better, you were either playing a really bad sens or you have changed your play style because of this change.

Why am i better than someone who has never played before if on a different sens, well there are micro and Macro aspects to muscle memory, you understand how to aim and everything you need it's just you cannot flick without thinking about it and your general hand-eye coordination is better

It's fake, well name one contrary study and i can give you 10 that say it's wrong.

In conclusion, if you are playing badly and you are not using a really awkward sens, take a break, watch the vod back, play smarter. cause i guarantee it is not your sens. However it does also help
