Holy Roman Empire Dark to Feudal Build Order

Overview

This guide ideally places you in the Feudal Age at a decent time with two prelates. If practicing against AI, this will generally have you age up before them with the Hardest AI being the closest after you.

First Phase:

Have all your villages start to harvest the sheep. Pick one village to quickly drop off and build two house then start chopping wood. Ideally place the houses with space for farms on your town center (TC) later and pick a tree close to the TC.

While doing the above queue up three villages and one prelate.

The first village built should be placed on sheep.

The other two village should be sent to the nears gold with the prelate, have the first of the villages build a gold mine then resume mining.

During this time and between these actions, have your scout start gathering sheep at least 2-3 at a time and bring back to the TC. I find that doing circles, growing in size around your initially visible area finds the most sheep. Once you have around 5, feel free to send the scout do explore the map more.

Second step

As the first prelate is being built, queue up more villages and send them to gold.

From here send villages to gold until you have mined 100 more gold, this is about 2-3 more, then immediately build a prelate. You should be reaching 100 gold as a village is about done training.

Have the prelate, 2nd being trained, rally near your shepherds.

You can build 2-3 more villages, I recommend placing one on sheep and the others on wood.

Third Step

At this time you should have enough resources to built the landmark of your choice. With the Chapel I try and place the building so the radius influences at least three resources.

I typically assign all my food villagers to construction, with newer villagers built being assigned to food as replacement or wood.

I hope this has been helpful and please feel free to refine/improve for your own usage.
